This deep sea shit is going to give me a panic attack D: I hate depth/the ocean.
The cave full of what looked like spiders was horrifying.

Goddamn, started playing through this with a bunch of friends in a group session. Not sure how far into the game we are, but we played for about 8 hours. At the moment we'rea bit after you lose access to the DUNBAT in... Theta?. Any ideas on how much time we have left? I feel like we're going quite slowly and being extremely cautious; all a nervous bunch. We're in the security room and have locked the door, having just updated the security key on the card
I watched the first, are there spoilers in them?
I am starting SOMA this weekend.
I don't mind them opening regular doors but it's pretty lousy that they can even open locked doors. I had to skip through a bunch of worldbuilding plot stuff because the assholes were always RIGHT THERE.I really, really wish the monsters couldn't open doors so you could trap them. Rewards the player for bravery and means you can explore the areas without constantly being interrupted.

Fuck that fuckingman.angler fish
Does anyone have a picture of this thing? Nothing coming up in Google; I somehow managed to miss it and have now uninstalled the game. Loads of people mentioning it as one of the best scares and somehow I was oblivious to it >_<
Just got a question to the end
Did Catherine died and left Simon alone in the abyss ?
I think it was lessSome say she abandoned him, others say the omnitool was already breaking down and the last scan just gave the last push. I believe in the former.
Are you sure about that?I'm currently in Delta and have locked myself in the security room. The monster just wanders around outside the window unable to reach me.

Well, still 10 hours in and close to the end (I think). Anyway, I wish they had the enemies disapper after completing some section so you can explore everything. Just for example when you get thesecurity chip to access the elevator in Theta, so you can explore the office
I wish Simon wasn't such a fucking asshole all the time. Yeah, he's been through some shit, but least he has free range of movement, and she takes that in stride.unlike Catherine
Yeah, I felt the same way. That's my only complaint with the story. I think they had to make Simon anexposition piece to help anyone who hasn't had the smallest amount of existential thought. But to me he just felt like a rage infused brat.
It's hard for me to remember, but I think you're about halfway? Maybe slightly further.Goddamn, started playing through this with a bunch of friends in a group session. About where we are at the moment:That goddamn monster is just constantly spawning outside the security room. We can just get a glimpse of him doing it in the darkness.
After fluffing around in there for 5 or 10 minutes arguing what to do, we made a sprint for it after we saw him enter one of the corridors. He immediately spawned and chased us to the lift; so horrifying. He beat us down at the entrance, but we managed to insert the card and crawl in after respawning. However, we fumbled to find the buttons and he came tearing through while the doors closed. That ended our session on a terrifying and high note!
This guy is a real pain though; he knew the corridors well when we tried to sneak around, and we had several close encounters. The current situation feels a bit unfair though; I feel it must be scripted to have him spawn as you run past?
Anyway, what a game! We're really enjoying our time with it.

Being selfish does not make you a rage infused brat. Human instinct makes us all selfish when we want to survive, pushing people away and trying to survive no matter the costs.
He did not want to hear reasoning because of it. Does it make him a brat? In your eyes, maybe. For me it is the perfect example of one simple man trying to survive in the harshest world possible.
On Tau, did anyone manage to get into the locked room in the control section, it asked for a code and I never found it...
did I miss a room? what was in there?
Was itroom?Johan Ross'
I remember looking at a terminal (in the infirmary maybe?) and the screen suddenly was filled with static with the password displayed for a moment

yes, what was in there? as it still let me finish the game
You sure you want to know? If so, read on.
The last human was there, hooked up on life support but she was slowly dying which gives you the choice to disable her life support or leave her hooked up.
It also provides some more background information.
EDIT: Damn, double post. Sorry.
yeah done that bit, that was in the infirmary, where she gives you the item you out on the lift, it was in his room specifically

Yep. Not of the plot of Soma, but the game's universe.
