Ok, so FF7:AC will be coming out next month. I've got some questions regarding this and hopefully someone has the answers:

1) The DVD will see a simultaneous release in NA and Japan right? Will these DVDs be region-coded? Also, what will be the difference between the Japanese and NA version?

2) Will there be English subtitles in the Japanese DVD?

3) Will there be the option of Japanese dub and English subtitles in the NA version?

I was at the Suncoast store in my local mall yesterday and it listed FF7:AC under September releases so yeah it'll be here next month

News on the US release has been pretty much nonexistent... which is pretty worrisome considering it's still scheduled for release around the 13 of September. The whole film is supposedly going to be @ the Venice Film Festival at the end of this month, so hopefully some concrete details come out.

Regarding the Japanese release, I doubt there will be English subs.

Basically there is virtually no information available regarding the NA version, you will have to wait till either a) it comes out or b) Square-Enix sees fit to give us some info.

They took out a full page ad in some magazine I was reading awhile back for it, saying September 13th.

I mean, I know it's TOTALLY NOT LIKE SQUARE-ENIX TO DELAY A PROJECT, but I'll believe this one when I see it coming from a Cosplayers lips.

Finally watched the trailer for this tonight, and it was nice; but not as visually stunning as The Spirits Within. Which only makes sense since this was probably made for a fraction of the cost of TSW. :/

Does it really matter when it comes out in north america? It'll be ripped from someone in japan and thrown on the net within days of its release and subtitled by someone within a few more, so even if the jap dvd doesn't have subtitles right on it and the american release is delayed by a few months time , you'll be able to 'find' it online.

Okay, so AC doesn't look as nice as TSW, but it doesn't look as bad as the Onimusha 3 intro. :X

I know I saw an ad for it in EGM, and I highly doubt they'd take out an ad only to delay the movie a few weeks later. I mean, if they were only delaying the American version, while still putting out the Japanese one on time, I'd gripe less because it would indicate that they're probably redoing some localization stuff. I dunno though.

There's no delay for the Japanese release.

Oh and was that ad on EGM put out by Square Enix or Sony Pictures? Did it state a specific release date? If the ad was by Square Enix and/or it does not state a specific release date, that would likely indicate that there's no way in hell Advent Children is making the Sept 13 release in the US. When Sony Pictures starts putting out fullpage ads and billboard signs advertising it with Sept 13, then you know it's coming out, until then, limboland! :lol

Okay, how do you know this? Square Enix's North American ff7ac site hasn't been updated since May 15th and it doesn't have any details of the DVD on it at all.

Just to fuel his fire though yea i'm buying it on UMD and DVD :lol According to Manabyte in another thread it's considered pirating and illegal if I rip the movie from my DVD and put it on my PSP so I don't want the FBI after me or anything.
