When Conker's Bad Fur Day came out back in 2001, it was the greatest moment for me. Not only did the game have great multiplayer, but it had one funny-ass single player game too. Only problem was, at the time, the N64 was dead. Real dead. Not even zombie dead. There wasn't an inch of life in it.

Now the very same game is coming back out and it's all dolled up with new graphics... but the Xbox is also on its way out. Now I'm not going to pretend like I know what I'm talking about, but doesn't Microsoft's new system come out at the end of this year? I mean, if that's true, then the Xbox is obsolete within a few months, and Conker: Live and Reloaded will be lost forever in the eyes of gamers everywhere.

I mean, what the fuck. Conker can't cut a break. Had it come out in N64's golden years, it would have torn up the sales charts. The same goes for the Xbox.

Anyone else meet eye to eye with me on this one, or am I just really more stoned that I thought?

That was a totally different situation. When N64 was on it's last legs, there were already next-gen consoles around that it couldn't compete with and people were buying games for those consoles. Now Xbox is coming into the home stretch, there is still nothing on the market more powerful than it, and there wont be for six months. Xbox games are selling as well if not better now than they ever have. If conker doesn;t sell well it wont be because of when it was released.

I'm buyin' it, that does it for me. Plenty of games rock out then fade into obscurity with mediocre sales. There's a lot worse cases than Conker, I dunno why you folks work yourselves up so much about impact and sales charts. Nothing you can do other than PIMP IT OUT, GWAHH. MAF always does it right.

Anyhow, I'm still slightly concerned for the games quality. Conker and Perfect Dark were the best Rare titles on the N64 by a mile, IMO. If they somehow manage to fuck up the REMAKE of Conker, well, that's going to do much for my already shaken faith in PD0.
