I keep finding notes on my windshield whenever I move my car.

No serious damage yet - just a small dent that I wouldn't have noticed unless I were looking for it. Not worth contacting the cops or insurance yet. Is this common? I can't come up with a realistic scheme, but I feel like this is some sort of weird scam.

Someone hits your car with a hammer and they leave just one small dent you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't looking for it? Sounds fishy to me. People that take hammers to cars aren't going to be satisfied with a tiny dent, they're going to break things.

Yeah seems a bit odd, and surely the police would have contacted you if something was reported about your car

That's definitely odd, OP. Maybe just unlucky that it has happened more than once? I mean it's nice that your neighbors are so concerned though - just imagine if there had been more damage you'd want to know and have a witness.

The note writer would be my #1 suspect personally

The handwriting seems pretty distinct in the two notes.

Time for a stakeout. Intentionally move your car, then stand out of view and wait for the culprit

Did they buy paper just to write a second note? Like hunny we have to get paper, if Makai's car gets beat on again I refuse to write another note on cardboard.

A friend told me about his idiot friend who had a habit of knocking out side mirrors of non US cars. OK it was around the time of the financial crisis and this is the Detroit area we are talking about. Still, dumb people do dumb things.

Hey OP, I'm sorry but it appears I've hit your car with a tank. Please contact me to discuss.

Seriously, looks fishy. I'd keep a vigilant watch.

Residential side street? Busy main street? City street?

Are you blocking anything in, like someone's mailbox, or maybe not leaving much room for someone to get out of their own spot?

Hammer to the side of your car. Was it near the door(s)? I remember there was some cars that would actually open/unlock if you hit a certain spot on the car hard enough on the door frame. Cant remember which car it was

Did I miss something? What's with the Fiat hate? That a weird euro thing? I love my (Canadian) Fiat 500

I rented one once. It was weak to the point of coughing terror at highway speeds. It was cramped. The window controls ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE COME ON!!!!

I'm sure the Abarth is better.
