Someone Is Making A Game Based On the Super Mario Bros Super Show

Many fans have recreated old Mario games in different engines or in different styles. But one fan and his young kids are doing something different. They’re creating a totally original Mario game based on the animated segments from the popular Super Mario Bros. Super Show and it looks amazing.

Some really beautiful work here. Usually these things tend to be asset mash ups, this guy hand animating it all, hell to the yes

Also I don't think this is a release just some home project more a proof of concept. Nintendo obviously can't stop him from doing this on his own time if he's not releasing it

I like the character art, but the views of the level are a disastrous mush of elements, kind of nauseating visually.

Also, what the hell is wrong with his parallax? In the video he's often moving background layers faster than the main layer, and it has that jarring sense of rotation. Really screwed up... I've seen that effect before and always find it mystifying, who could possibly think that motion makes sense?
