i just finished watching "a million dollar baby" and it was the most depressing movie that my eyes ever laid on! A while after the first hour of the movie, i already wanted kill myself cuz damn! i have no words to say other than asking for someoen to slith my wrists. "Best movie of the year"??? what the hell were they smoking!? im not sure if this movie has increased suicide rates because fuck........ i want my 2hr15mins back

After reading your post I wanted to kill myself.

Seriously though "a million dollar baby" was very sad. I wanted to slith my wrists. Btw, is that you in your avatar?

Depressing or not, you can't deny it's a good movie. Preference on tone is one thing, but acknowledging a movie for all of its accomplishments is another. You need to do the latter even if the story isn't your cup of tea.

My girlfriend felt the same way you did about the flick. She said it would have been great had she recovered and won the title fight. Bah, I say.

You're not the only one. I just bought this movie (DVD) yesterday and it nearly made me want to puke when i saw the ending. Dayyuuummm! :cry Sniff... Sniff!!!

"Best movie of the Year": My list

1. Titanic ----1998
2. E. T. : Extraterrestral ----1982
3. Million Dollar Baby ----2004

You wuss. Watch "Dancer in the Dark" and let us know how it goes.

;)

I really liked Million Dollar Baby though. It's a really great film.

don't get me wrong. i enjoyed the first 1hr15mins or so of the movie but after that is just too damn depressing but i tell you guys later on what i really feel of the movie once it sinks in............cuz i gotta go to do an errand

:( Why did I ever learn to read?

Maybe I just wasn't as engaged in the movie as I could have been, but it didn't really depress me, even though I didn't see
her outcome
coming at all. A very good movie, though, and pretty sad.

Yeah seriously.....the thread title doesn't mention anything about the movie, so the least a dickhead can do is use spoiler tags.

The first post sure does mention the movie and the fact that it is depressing. Who skips to the second post and starts reading?

You think that's depressing? Watch Sophie's Choice and then get back to us.

I've never seen the movie, but this is one of the most depressing pieces of art I've ever consumed, in any medium.

But I used spoilertags. That means I'm not a dickhead.

I was wondering if I should see it or not. This guy said he wish he hadn't so I scrolled down to read other impressions on it as an overall movie.

Million Dollar Baby was a great film and a sad film. But it's sadness is being overstated a bit.

It had a great ending and it was a happy ending in many ways.
