the full list ??

Sonic the Fighters
Sonic the Hedgehog CD
Sonic R
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Sonic Pinball
Sonic & Tails 2
Sonic Drift
Sonic & Tails 2
Tails' Sky Patrol
Tails Adventure
Vectorman
Vectorman 2
Bonanza Brothers
Streets of Rage 1
Streets of Rage 2
Streets of Rage 3

all games only need 4800yen, a very good deal :D

Yeah, we're not getting the Streets of Rage games like in Japan. Sega wouldn't release a sonic title here with anything but an E rating, and Streets would raise it to a T (or an E-T)

From that article:
"SEGA confirms Streets of Rage will not be included in the U.S. version of its title Sonic Gems Collection. While Streets of Rage will ship with Sonic Gems Collection in other markets, the more mature game does not conform to the E-rating of Sonic The Hedgehog games in North America."

Sucks that Streets of Rage isn't going to be on it but I'd drop 30 bucks for the Vectormans alone.

Really stupid that you have to unlock them both. There better be a damn code.

FUCK YOU SOA! FUCK! Damnit! I'll still get it for Sonic CD and Fighters, but FUCK I wanted Streets of Rage.

Holy shit, Sega is as pitifull as Georges Lucas. I'm sure they would get more sales because of the extra games opposed to the rating on the box. It's not like if it's M rated. Nobody cares about T or E.

Sales would probably increase from it being T :lol

Nice list, but where's Chaotix? After all, it is probably the least played of the Sonic games, and not because it's shit or anything (or so I hear).

Two other points: Firstly, what are they doing with the SMS ones? Wasn't the second one on SMS completely different to the second on on Mega Drive? You'd think since they have a GG emulator they'd be set.

Secondly, Europe gets a PS2 version AND Streets of Rage?!? Haha, awesome. :lol :lol :lol @ you.

edit: I take it "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" IS the SMS version? If so, cool.

Weren't the SMS games extremely similar to the GG ones, thus no reason to include them?

Even though I have all the SoR games and really just want this collection for Sonic The Fighters, I'll be importing this one. Taking out games = No U.S. sale from me.

And yeah, how about removing the GG games (were't they all in Sonic DX anyway?) and putting in Knuckles Chaotix and Sonic The Arcade game instead?

Where the hell is my God damn Chaotix and SEGASonic Arcade SEGA?!?!

Chaotix really isn't that good. And wasn't SEGASonic Arcade not ever OFFICIALLY released outside of a few test arcades?

You could unlock GG minigames in DX.

I know it's not that good :) but for completeness sakes these two games would be great since they'd be the only two games left NOT released in a compilation.

Hell, look at this image from the SGC page:

If they're actually putting in the effort of adding Chaotix Artwork, it should be there for a reason.

Wait a second... several of these games were already released (in either Sonic Adventure DX or Sonic Mega Collection+), right? They're also cutting games... and the GC version of SMC is still short a few games here in the USA.

Does Sega -enjoy- walking into walls?

Stupid Sega!
So the pal version will have SoR games? ps2 pal version here I come. Although im sure sega will find a way to fuck this version up as well.

Darn it, I heard several people say that they liked the idea of this being a min-SOR collection too, and I would've liked that inclusion. Now SOA's saying they're going to cut it, and not offer a suitable replacement? Bleh. Maybe I'll just look into picking up the Japanese version instead. Taking out three long games over rating concerns without any trade off or return favor (pick some other Genesis games or something) is disappointing.

Also: Sonic the Fighters, while not the most violent fighting game ever (although some of the reactions to the damage Bark dishes out looks brutal), would at least qualify it for an E10, wouldn't it?

Needs more NiGHTS, though the current selection is very satisfying.

I imagine a third collection is in order: Knuckles Chaotix, Segasonic the Hedgehog, the NGPC game, and extra stuff like NiGHTS.

You realize Shadow the Hedgehog will be rated T, right?

If this weren't GC exclusive in the US it'd have SoR and that's that. I'll wait for the PS2/XBOX port which will have them just as their version of SMC had such non-E rated games like Comix Zone and The Ooze. -_-

Holy f-ing crap I cannot believe SOA is that freaking stupid. Before hearing this news I was planning on buying the compilation on day one. Now there's no chance that I'll buy it at all. Half the games were already on SADX and Sonic CD and Sonic the Fighters aren't that great. The SOR games were what sealed the deal for me.

Sales - 1

Believe me when I say you don't want Chaotix. It is one of the worst designed games I've ever played and I was a huge Sonic fan. There was a character in the game that could fly over every single level with no problem. It was like having infinite P-Wings in SMB3. The other characters ranged from terrible to just plain weird. Even Knuckles didn't feel right in that game.

There's always the chance they'll replace SOR1-3 with something the various Sonic Team staff have actually had a hand in... like say Phantasy Star 1-2.

My God, they're exceptionally dumb. How can they make such retarded decisions based on the possiblity of getting a T rating?

We're talking about the people who said "Hey, let's take a Sonic character, give him guns, and then put him in a spinoff game."

I'll be picking this up when it drops down to $20. I'm saving most of my money for other stuff this fall. I also need to save up money for the Revolution.

Can someone tell me what's so great about Sonic Fighters? Admitedly I didn't get to play it much at E3 but it looked and played like a first generation Saturn game. It didn't seem fun at all:(

Uh, maybe because it WAS technically a Saturn game?

Sonic the Fighters/Sonic Championship was a Model 2B game, not Saturn/ST-V. A Saturn port was announced (and canceled) though.

Well, looks like I'm waiting for the PS2 release to see if SoR is included. Perhaps SoA will be more inclined to include the games to an audience they perceive to be older, age wise?

OH, and here is another big FU to SoA for doing this:

There are also 3D bonus stages where Sonic runs around an arena, dodging obstacles and destroying several enemy pods within a time limit. Do so, and you'll earn a "Time Stone." Hardcore Sonic fans will be disappointed to learn that the version of Sonic CD in Sonic Gems Collection only features the U.S. soundtrack, which is completely different (and many would argue inferior) to the Japanese one. Although it would have been nice to have the choice of either soundtrack in this collection, Sega explains that licensing issues kept the original music off of this U.S. release. The Japanese version of Gems does feature the original tunes, which should please importers.

Fucksticks. How hard is it to include the original Japan sound track?

Fuck Sega of America. This is potentially one of the coolest compilation packs ever and those jerks destroyed it.

Yep, this is looking like an import
