Sonic Riders: Game controls movie

The anime intro (check the other topic) has me writhing in pain.

On the other hand, I liked Sonic R, so I'm not dismissing this from the getgo.

It does look pretty fun, reminds me of F-Zero.
However, it would be even nicer if they let us actually watch the clip instead of covering it with HUGE TEXT half the time.

The folks who used to be from UGA worked on this btw.

After being forced to work on Astro Boy, management asked what they wanted to work on next, and they said a racing game, so I guess this is what the result is. I wonder if those same folks worked on Sega Rally? Hmm...

IIRC, UGA was mostly console R&D guys moved to work under Miz. Most of Team Andromeda ended up there I believe. The Sega Rally team became AM Annex, then Sega Rosso and recently remerged with Hitmaker before being redistributed in the giant Arcade R&D Group.

Agreed. lookgame footage right after though and it looked like F-Zero crossed with SSX with Sinic characters tossed in. If it controls well then I might just pick this up. I still want a pure Sonic game that features ONLY SONIC.

Why were people hating on this game? It looks like fun.
Because it's 'chic' to hate on all things Sega.

I agree, the game looks fantastic.

It'll probably be the best 3D Sonic yet, though its only a racer.

Well, I'm just repeating what I've been told (though the Sega Rally part was pure speculation on my end).

Being a Sonic Team fanboy, I bought Astro Boy for very cheap.

Man, it's a terrible TERRIBLE game. So much loading, and so much... not doing anything. I expected better from the UGA team.

No, because Sega does some stupid shit.

My main problem with this game was that they were trying too hard to be "hip", but the game itself looks pretty damn fun.
