They are all PC parts, they just have different OSes. The gap is closing in the OS space for gaming. I'm not saying that consoles don't have their place. But they aren't different as PC vs consoles use to be 25+ years ago.So you don't worry, you're here talking about it.
Those of you hiding behind the moral umbrella of PC gaming, saying you don't get involved in "absurd wars," are the same ones who go around preaching to everyone how absurd it is to buy a console when, as a "foolish" consumer, you should be on PC.
You should get yourself checked out.
Monopolies actually aren't inherently bad and can be very beneficial. It's when they start lobbying and get government intervention that prevents them from failing when they suck. They get government to pass laws and regulations that keep them near the top and prevent newcomers from competing. That's when it goes from monopoly to coercive monopoly. There is competition in the entertainment space, Nintendo, PC, movies, smartphone doomscrolling etc. but in the high end console market Sony is kinda alone right now. Monopolies almost always suck. Switch1&2 is priced like it is because of that. PS6 will probably be priced equivalent to second job PS3. Rare exception is Valve. Gabe won't live forever though. After he is gone that will turn bad fast. Unless Valve gets entirely integrated in the open source world of Linux.
See, this is the problem right there.Cmon man, I am not 'crying' at all. I have a PS5 right here, next to my Switch 2 and PC. I don't own anything Xbox at all at this moment in time.
The weird thing is that PlayStation had been the market leader for 30+ years at this point. I think it is a bit late to complain when it had been the case for that long. Anyway, Xbox only showed up after SEGA's death. And we will one day have a new challenger when Xbox goes away. But right now as I once described it, the Xbox is like a bloated decomposing beached whale. It is getting in the way and not giving any new challenger room to move. Got to move the dead weight off stage first. Most people here don't care about the competition (there are other markets where other brands are more dominant and they don't care), what bothers them is that Playstation is the one that takes over the "traditional" console market and that's it.
X360 made a small dent, but for all the wrong reasons (rampant and very easy piracy).American PoV. Xbox has never really been a thing in either the japanese or most of the european markets.
Can't tell if serious....Not at all, first of all Xbox isnt going under, and they are working on a new console.
Second of all, Xbox did this to themselves, not the competition. PS4/PS5 won due to sheer incompetence on Xbox side
Yeah, they won the retard contest while they had the other retard company in the race. If they are so bad now how bad will they be once they won't even have any competition at all? Thankfully, I have a backlog that lasts until I die and some occasional gems will still be released, so I don't really care anymore.Because they are so arrogant and stupid, just think of the ps3 days. Hell even on ps5 right now we see barely any good first party titles
These companies need the competition from eachother, yes MS has been flailing around like a headless chicken for years, but to hope for MS to fully quit Xbox is like giving Sony the keys to the Mansion and saying "go wild"
Unless you want monthly psn subs to become crazy expensive, Sony not caring about their core players etc..
Competition is HEALTHY for consumers. We WANT these companies fighting for our wallet.
I think you might need to adjust your expectations a little bit. There is still going to be competition for Sony. The landscape has (obviously) changed. PC is competition for Sony if they still want us to buy stuff on console.Because they are so arrogant and stupid, just think of the ps3 days. Hell even on ps5 right now we see barely any good first party titles

Have you yet figured out why Nintendo's profits are higher?lol this clown acts like cutting checks to companies that sell their games on Sony's platform is an expense
we need better xbox shills.

Their next game will be Ratchet I believe. PS5 version already looked like a kids movie.Sometimes I wish Microsoft would of bought Sega back in the day. That would of been an incredible 1st party exclusive showcase on top of Microsofts Halo Gears Fable trio still existing. Sonic as Xbox Mascot with Master Chief could of worked. VIRTUA Fighter exclusive fighter.
Problem is I feel like Microsoft and Sony have lost their identities. Nintendo is the only one with true brand loyalty console exclusives. Sony Wolverine will move a few more consoles tho. But honestly what will the Ps6 launch with that will make it a must buy? It would have to be Spider-Man 3 no?
It can.Because they are so arrogant and stupid, just think of the ps3 days. Hell even on ps5 right now we see barely any good first party titles

Yes. And by some margain.But... is Sony actually the matket leader?
Like it or not they can, they are and will continue being the market leader. This year with their first party lineup and GTA6 should have a nice bump versus previous year.Sony alone cannot be market leader
Not true, PC gaming revenue is around the same size of the revenue of all three consoles combined (not counting game subs), and a big majority of the PC revenue is from Steam. Meaning, Steam must generate more revenue than PS (who has around 55% of the console market).Steam is half of Sony revenue. Try something else.
No, it is not. Sony generates way more revenue than Nintendo. And more profit, and has a larger active userbase. Sony is the market leader in console, and it's also the top grossing company in the entire gaming industry (also including PC and mobile).... but Nintendo is the leader
Steamdeck haven't sold 5M copies. Very far from even WiiU or PS Vita.
This. Unless you're a shareholder, cheering for a monopoly is pure stupidity. Sony didn't get strong by being alone. Competition made them better. No rivals means worse products and higher prices. I feel like I lost brain cells just explaining this.Competition is HEALTHY for consumers. We WANT these companies fighting for our wallet.

These companies don't fight even near as hard as they used to. Now they're on X congratulating releases of exclusive games.Because they are so arrogant and stupid, just think of the ps3 days. Hell even on ps5 right now we see barely any good first party titles

By this logic, Apple is failing because they pay out ~$50B a year to devs in the Apple Store.Have you yet figured out why Nintendo's profits are higher?
Their audience eat that slop three times a day and have zero complaints*exclusive slop
I see Ryu Cooking Some Rice is back to his usual schtick. How did he get out of his perm ban from before? How about you just shut the fuck up your absolute moron
If you have nothing to add except thread whine go play elsewhere you baby. This is a discussion forum

Unfortunately, we'll never stop seeing that. Fanboys gonna fanboy. They'd rather watch their "enemy" die than have good competition that will benefit them. It's a mental deficiency. Its just more that I constantly see people wishing for the death of Xbox, when that in fact would probably not be best for consumers in the long end.

Xbox fandom is mental deficiency.
Any fanboyism is. Fanboys defend something no matter what and dismiss any criticism. It's retarded behavior.

When did you get cured?
/thread.Xbox going under is the result of this competition you speak of. The market has spoken. It's impossible for the big three to be equally successful in todays economic climate. Something has to give.
Cured of what? Buying all platforms and playing games on them? What am I a fanboy of exactly?

Closet one...
I'll excuse you since it seems English is maybe your third language.
THAT'S Jim Carrey!
Sony is market leader because they're coasting off of the unparalleled support they got with their first console.Sony is market leader because they've had the longest consistency.
Nintendo in the last 2 generations has done a great job but consider this is the first time in a very long time they've actually been consistent with a system
Microsoft as always been inconsistent at no time have they ever been able to capture the market in truly offer competition to Sony in a real meaningful way
All you have to do is look at the list of game of the years and notice how absent Microsoft is. Microsoft wanted to have this evergreen concept with forza Hala and gears, They are not Nintendo... Make an such a set up similar to Nintendo having Mario Zelda and Mario kart.. They are competing against a giant like Sony that refreshes their properties every generation to bring in new consumers. So Sony's ability to always have their teams bringing out fresh new content every generation is something many of us expect and has kept them market leader for a very long time, But the real thing that is solidified this spot for them Is that there is no guesswork anytime a new playstation comes out, It is a progressive step in a direction we are familiar with with a layout of controllers we are familiar with. Because they cater to the hardcore like this people are easily able to grow with them.
Microsoft is still pushing a lot of the same properties. I have nothing against the resurgence of fable as that is a bit of a different story considering it's been absent for sometime, We do not need a new Halo and another remake of Halo and then another gears this type of fucking fatigue is What got consumers moving away from them. Because if you did not like a lot of those properties on the previous xbox you had no reason to buy the new one which is why those sales are complete fucking shit...
Sony caring about their core players is why they are market leader... When it comes to making a competent system in providing support for it this is something they've done extremely well as to why they are market leader that did not just happen by accident.
I don't disagree that competition is healthy for consumers but talk to me when there is a company that actually can provide real competition for Sony
Right now there's 0 on the horizon...
