The Until Dawn movie was shot in Hungary between August and October last year. Scheduled for release on April 25, 2025, it’s an adaptation of the PS4 horror game which was recently remade for PS5.
"One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again - only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn."
So it really have nothing to do with the game, and no Wendigo I guess.
When will they learn ffs
And you don't need to say Amen to everything either. On the surface I would 100% agree, I don't need a 1 for 1 adaptation. But this, has NOTHING in common with the game. Take out Peter Stormare, would you guess it's an Until Dawn movie? Not to mention that Sony has a very bad track record on adapting anything.i think this is a cool idea, looks much better than i thought it would. I'll be on the lookout for a trailer.
Gaffers are no fun as usual.
Just copying the game would be boring, i don't want to watch the game in theatres
it does, it has the decision making part of the game included, and it has it all occurring in one night. And you don't need to say Amen to everything either. They don't need to copy the game, but at least take inspiration from it. And were the fuck are my Wendigos, the BEST part of the game is not there. WTF.
Ah, so we'll have a controller at the cinema to choose what choice we want? Noice.it does, it has the decision making part of the game included, and it has it all occurring in one night.
Why, are wendigos something you'll miss? lol
they're really not important lolAh, so we'll have a controller at the cinema to choose what choice we want? Noice.
Don't try to tell me they are not important. That reveal was awesome and they are a big reason on why people liked the game. Ask anyone what they remember from Until Dawn, 90% of them will tell you "the Wendigos!!"
That's like the worst take about Until Dawn I've ever seen. THE BIG reveal of the game is... not that important.they're really not important lol
Well obviously not, but you are the one saying "it has the decision making part of the game included". So please enlighten me on how it is included.its a movie, what you expect? everyone to get a controller? lets be for real for once in our lives.

No wendigos? Why changing the story? And you don't need to say Amen to everything either. On the surface I would 100% agree, I don't need a 1 for 1 adaptation. do i have to spell it out for you, watch the teaser, they say it. Dying in different ways based on choices. That's like the worst take about Until Dawn I've ever seen. THE BIG reveal of the game is... not that important.
If Wendigos are not important, please explain to me what IS important.
Well obviously not, but you are the one saying "it has the decision making part of the game included". So please enlighten me on how it is included.
Oh please, be my guest!do i have to spell it out for you,
But who fuckin cares lmao, it's a movie and the 'choices" aspect will be absent no matter how you try to turn it "b-b-but they said in the teaser that... uh... they will die in different ways" Dude seriously. Nobody's expecting them to show us the choice aspect of the game in a movie. But the Wendigos? Definitely.watch the teaser, they say it. Dying in different ways based on choices.
NOTHING is important in until dawn, its a fkn slasher its all for fun its not that serious
Me and my friendgroup thought the wendigos were ok but didnt add anything to it. Game Was scarier when it was psycho horror istead of boring Monster.Ah, so we'll have a controller at the cinema to choose what choice we want? Noice.

Modern Sony movies...
That makes too much sense. To me this ball drop is almost as hard as Max Payne, they literally screwed up a John Woo action flick in the peak of the Matrix fameThe dumbest thing is that they actually had a somewhat famous director as part of the consulting and even as a character in the original game.
Why not just use THAT guy to make an Until Dawn film.
So, copying Happy Death Day's idea and stamping it onto a niche gaming IP.
Good luck!
I figured this movie would suck since it's a David F. Sandberg flick, but the video opens with an intro from Gary Dauberman, who's probably an even worse filmmaker. He's writing? This is gonna be terrible.
They're both those sort of passionless Hollywood filmmakers who only churn out generic slop.
People do love trashI mean objectively It and the Annabelle movies have been really successful... Particularly their collaboration on Annabelle Creation which did 306 million worldwide at the box office on a budget of 15 million...

Famous director?

What are you talking about?
Whenever you see responses like you see here, you know a lot of people don't know what they're talking about.
Would have been cool if it was on a streaming service where you could pick the choices and see it play out
So a bit like Final Destination? We’re gonna get a bunch of cool death scenes?
He directed the movie closest to UD in terms of subject matter, probably a key reason why he was asked to write the game as well.

Jesus christ Mibu, already at it on your first day back.
You said the dude was famous, not a single one of his movies had any major presence at the box office, including Wendigo. The movie has a 5.1 on imdb.
The objective argument that Sony was "dumb" for not utilizing him here makes no sense in the real world.
Objective argument?
Wasn't Until Dawn already a movie? What's the point?
"Hell bent", "A thing"...Why is Sony hell bent on making this IP a thing? Who asked for this? Who wants this?
Where are you getting “No Wendigo’s” from?So it really have nothing to do with the game, and no Wendigo I guess.
Sony made a studio that is turning games into TV/Movies.Why is Sony hell bent on making this IP a thing? Who asked for this? Who wants this?
