my favorite period of Spider-Man was the late 80s early 90s when he was ADULT Spider-Man.

I am sick and tired of college boy Spider-Man.

STFU get past the marriage and just be Spider-Man as a married adult = the best Spider-Man

instead of the whiney trouble teeny bopper who can't get laid by MJ

McGuire is too Mid-Western anyways... dump him and select a New Yorker

Dunst has no lips.. dump her and hire a real chick full lips

Keep the same J.J. that J.J. was awesome

i don't think there will be venom in spiderman 4 since venom is getting its own movie (just like wolverine).

all i know about it is that sony doesn't want the actor from spiderman3, so there will be a change.

I hope it's not diesel but I don't know. Plus it'll be a really fucking stupid spinoff if they don't acknowledge spider-man in the movie.

This.

3 was a joke, and an insult to anyone that loved Venom (i.e. majority of Spider-Man fans).

Tim Burton should do it and make it dark as fuck :)
You don't speak for the majority of Spider-Man fans, and Tim Burton should never get within 100 ft of another comic book movie.

Why? He'd actually make a GOOD one?

Spider-man 3 was a disaster. I wish they'd reboot that honestly, so that I can purchase all of them on Blu-ray without ever getting the third. Crap, man. It was going so well until 3.

Hey hey hey hey hey, Willam Dafoe was AWESOME as Norman Osborn. :|

He was fine just..god awful costume. I want the GREEN GOBLIN, not silly armor pointed head teeth guy, not snowboarding facemask green guy.

Man, I loved the Green Goblin costume! It was proportionately menacing and evil for a character who's supposed to be a psychotic, murderous force that murders Spider-Man's girlfriend just for the hell of it whereas the real GG costume has the age-old problem of being goofy and campy in a way that cannot be taken remotely seriously nowadays. Totally agree with you about "Disproportionately Angry Xtreme Snowboarding Douchebag," though.

I thought the suit was fine. I enjoyed every foe (Doc Ock the favorite obviously) except for Venom. Sandman was the most disappointing as it fell he had his role slashed with not much to do to fit Avi Arad's film.

Hmm... as long as the villains are convincing and faithful, then I will have no concerns. #4 is supposed to have the Lizard and 5-6 is supposed to be the Sinister Six (most likely modified for the films w/o Sandmand and Doc Ock). Maybe throw in Scorpion in Sandman's place and Chameleon or Rhino in Doc Ock's place and let Tobey Maguire ride off into the sunset in his last performance as Spidey.

I dont understand attitudes like these. If you don't want to see anymore then don't. Whats it hurt to let studios attempt to create some good work? How does Spider Man 3 diminish Spider 1 or 2? It doesn't so let those who enjoy the franchise enjoy it.

Well it's about damn time! They've been teasing him since the second movie! I was shocked when I heard he wasn't going to be the villain in 3.

Yeah, Doc Connors is probably the safest choice they have outside of Kraven. And since they are most likely saving Kraven for the Sinister Six (if they do go with that story arc over 5 and 6), there's no one outside of The Lizard that I'd want to see in #4.

I'd be mad as hell if they brought in The Kingpin as a villain.

No way after they used him in DD.

But that's not at all the case here. It seems more like they just don't want to need to Keaton/Kilmer/Clooney all the principal players.

It was my reaction to the word reboot, again, that set me off.

Reboot would be awesome- after all the first 4 movies sucked major balls.

Make him all dark and badass like the new batman.

You know what they need to do in the next films? Bring in other characters from the Marvel universe. Like the Punisher (one that can play him well...).

Those are three movies. That's a trilogy, dude.

How could the rest of the movies diminish Spider Man as a bankable characcter is what you should be asking, and that depends on the quality of the final product (something we obviously cant judge at this moment in time) but at the very least, going on and on like this risks audience fatigue.

I think you need to re-think your statement. Star Wars, The Godfather, Back to the Future, etc need to come into your train of thought when thinking about trilogies being diminished by a third film.

No way after they used him in DD.

You'd be surprise to hear that they were considering him for Spider-Man 3 and Sony was anticipating Fox giving up the rights to Daredevil so they could use him in their franchise at some point.

Just a few months ago (June to be precise) rumors went wild when someone from the production team (I forget who) said the villain will "be a big part of NYC," thus furthering the claim that the Kingpin could end up in the Spider-Man franchise sooner or later (as reported by the NY Post).

Many of my colleagues heard it through the grapevine that he in fact is/was in consideration, but there hasn't been a confirmation exactly by Raimi on who is going to be the main villain of the film at this point.

It might be good for the team to keep the Kingpin out of sight and in the background until the film hits the street, ala Two-Face in Batman, to make it go over well -- If they do decide to use him.

:lol That's the thing. I never said trilogies were diminished by a third film! Where the hell is that coming from?

I said I long for the days when a trilogy was enough! This means I think that the trilogy is deminished by further films (which breaks the holy trinity of what a trilogy is supposed to be)

They can't. They're only allowed to use Spider-Man characters.

ahh, my understanding of your wording (or maybe the other guy's) was that you thought Spider-Man 1 and 2 were worse for having a third film.

I do hate the word trilogy when used in the film franchise. But I hate it even worse in the video game industy... *cough* Denis Dyack *cough*
