It's a ploy. They're offering old games right before their sequels' release dates and bullshit excuses for price cuts so they can sell DLC and microtransactions.
Not to mention if this shit goes down then there will be a fucking stupid amount of subscriptions from Ubisoft, Activision, 2K, Warner Bros, Bethesda, Square Enix, id, Gearbox. You name it, a company will have their version of Access. It's not healthy for the industry, it's exploiting consumers by making something look like it has value when it doesn't.
