Deux ans après un deuxième opus multi-plateforme mais intègrant un bonus spécifique sur les différentes machines (à savoir Heihachi sur PS2, Spawn sur Xbox et Link sur NGC), Soul Calibur marquera très prochainement son retour sur console. Namco nous avait pourtant prévenu, The Legend Will Never die.

Ainsi des sources très proches de Namco nous ont révélé en exclusivité, que la version PAL de Soul Calibur 3 sortira en Octobre 2005 sur PS2, GC et Xbox et qu'une autre version console est à prévoir ...

La sortie Japonaise n'est donc plus qu'une question de temps, et la présentation du jeu devrait avoir lieu sous peu.

Nous ne manquerons pas de vous tenir informés dès qu'une nouvelle information sera connu sur le futur jeu de combat (référence ?) de Namco.

And so sources close to Namco revealed to us exclusively that de PAL version of Soul Calibur 3 is due out in october 2005 on PS2, NGC and Xbox and that another console version is due.

So the japanese release is soon on it's way and the presentation of the game should be coming soon.

IAWTP. "Porting up" to XB2 makes no sense. The market is still saturated with copies of Soul Calibur II that are in bargain bins and confined to the land of unwanted games.

This, you see, is what annoys me about people on gaming message board (not you as such, but the other people reading too much into this). This is a rumour that has been translated from Japanese to French to English and you're trying to draw conclusions from one word. Do you not see how stupid that looks?

It'd make more sense for the PSP to get this and the DS to get a port of SC1 arcade. Both would be close to each systems power and wouldn't require any significant downgrading.

But when they say it came from a source close to Namco, I take that to mean Namco in Japan, which means the original info would have been in (drum roll please) Japanese. Multiple levels of translation on what's a rumour to start with equals insanity trying to read anything into the selection of a single word.

New consoles often result in breakups and new couplings. Longtime Square fans were surprised when the company went to bed with Sony and announced that Final Fantasy would be a PlayStation exclusive. Well, we have a slew of new systems in the works. Though they'll be coming out over the next two years, a big announcement will take place this year, probably at E3 2005. I'm talking enormous -- along the lines of Square taking Final Fantasy back to Nintendo or Rockstar taking Grand Theft Auto to Xbox 2 exclusively.

My sources have given me an idea of who will be leaving who, but I can't really say right now. I'm pretty sure I'd get an easily identifiable weapon through the head. (Perhaps that's a hint.

If they're really releasing it that soon I have to wonder how much they're going to work on adding to the game. SC2 felt like SC with walls, slightly better graphics, and horrible bonus characters thrown in.

Nope, not happening. There would have been screens or art released by now, plus I thought it was already confirmed the game was hitting ARCADES first anyway. It's going to come out next year on home consoles...we'll be lucky to see the arcade version later this year.

it entirely depends on what they're doing with SCIII. given that SCII was, to be frank, a fairly minor upgrade in a lot of ways -- it's still a completely stunning game, mind -- i'm eager to see what they have up their sleeves.
