Soul Calibur on the NDS....is it possible?

It appears that a remake of the original Soul Calibur will be made for the DS and may include Link. This information comes from a foreign language Nintendo magazine. This version is suppose to surpass the original in graphics and audio. Also this is suppose to be a Namco project. No official confirmations have been confirmed yet, but hopefully we will see it soon and online.

Better grfx than on the DC? That would be incredible. Anybody have any news on this information? Sorry if old.

HI I'M REMOVING THE CRUST OFF THE STORY BECAUSE IT HAS ALREADY GROWN A HARD SHELL DUE TO BEING AROUND SINCE THE PREHISTORIC ERA.

j/k one love

oh also... uhhhh... yes DS can do Soul Calibur ok. Also, "the original" was NOT the DC version. So it will not be better visually than the DC version, no.

So this is going to look better than the arcade version? is that what ur saying? That would still be impressive. AGAIN....let me apologize I did not realize that this info was so old.

SC on DS would probably look similar to the arcade version, but well short of the Dreamcast version. But again since no other website has reported this news, I think that whole thing was a fake rumor to begin with.

ARGH this was already posted
ARGH it's not true
ARGH it doesn't matter if it can be done or not

How can you say it's not true? That magazine article looks more that real to me.

Explain brain.

Soul Calibur on the Nintendo DS as of right now is not happening.

No credible news site has reported this and Namco has said absolutely nothing.

If it came out, then yes it might look comparable to the original arcade board version. And yes, that would still be impressive.

Oh, it must be real then :lol Do you believe everything you see in the press all the time?

Wait, what? So that rumour XBN posted about Nintendo leaving the videogame console business and joining Microsoft for their Xbox2 isn't true?

:lol

Well they could use the touchscreen for "automatic" moves, for beginners who don't know WTF they're doing

ie: Spider-Man on the DS:

No I don't, but until I see something other than some anti-nintendo fanboy saying it I'm going to believe what I see in the media. Sorry I follow something along the lines of the good old innocent until proven guilty line. Real until proven fake.

To expand on this, I see no way ANY fighter can be done on the DS and utilize the touch screen.

Discuss.

I'm sure you realize that it wouldn't have to, right?

Uh, then believe the media. Why isn't this reported on any credible news source? It's been a few weeks now.

Don't be so guillable.

That does seem pretty possible. They could put some interesting alternative to starting a combo, or maybe something to touch to start a soul charge. I personally am very interested in the possibilities that could come from this game.

Soul Calibur on the PSP would rock though. Defintiely DC-level or better visuals at 60 fps.
Seriously, PS1 nor PS2 got a port of Soul Calibur. Time to put it on the PSP along with Tekkens :D

I've thought about fighters on the system, and I've yet to see any ideas other than breakable areas that let characters fall to the bottom screen during a fight. I don't think I could get into control implementations of the touch screen that others are suggesting. Outside of faster menu navigation, I would rather traditional fighters limit any new features.

Namco needs to whore out Tekken with some Super Ultimate Collection for PSP. I mean, even Sega did it with the awesome VF1 10th anniversary in Evo.

DS I think would be good for fighters like Smash Brothers or Powerstone, because stuff like that really would benefit from two screens ... basically those types of 4-combatant fighters.

The top or bottom screen could just keep the camera stationed on your fighter, while the second screen could give you a wider view of the arena or a map so you know where your enemies are.

Basically it means the camera doesn't have to zoom waaaaaaaaaaay out in those types of games.

Stuff like Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur, Tekken, etc. (one-on-one fighters) is PSP all the way IMO ...
