I'm trying to hook up my xbox to my stereo and getting really frustrated..
My stereo and my PC use the same wall socket. My PC's speaker out is connected to my amp's aux1 in. My CD rack is plugged directly into the amp and is connected through aux2. My xbox is plugged to another wall socket, and I hook it up to my stereo with an extension cable. And all hell breaks loose..
No matter whichever feed I connect my xbox's audio out to, the amp gives me a VERY annoying and loud static parasite that I think is due to interference.. As soon as I disconnect either the PC or the xbox, everything works fine for the other. Any ideas why I may be having this? Would it possibly be solved by plugging the xbox to the same plug as the amp/pc?..
EDIT: I just found out that unplugging the composite video out from the tv allows the amp to work fine with both audio ins plugged in at once, but now I have no video on TV.. !! XBOX and TV share the same power socket..
EDIT2: Unplugging the Cable TV RF solved the issue, now I have both sound and audio.. the cable tv signal seems to be the culprit, but why?..
