South Park seems to be losing its touch. It was a funny episode, but nothing compared to last year thus far.

Drawn Together... funny start!

The problem with being edgy is that the definition of edgy changes too quickly.

Double whammy tonight! Both shows had hilariously good twist endings, especially South Park.

Tonight's DT was really good though, it had everything.

Retard sex,
Retard boobs
Spin the bottle :lol
Homer Simpson!!! :lol
Ling Ling addiction

This show just keeps getting better and better, fuck the haters, they just make me love this show more.

Wait. South Park is losing its touch? This episode, which shows
little girls dressing like sluts and finally making fun of Paris Hilton and the rest of the rich "sluts"
and Mr. Slave
SWALLOWING PARIS HILTON WITH HIS ASS
is what you call "losing its touch?" :D

Sorry, I'm still not liking Drawn Together.

South Park was great. I like it when they take a break from the core cast and follow some of the minor players around, and I'd been a bit disappointed that Wendy hadn't been appearing at all lately, let alone in anything substantial. Butters was fun, as always. I was busting out laughing when the girls were inviting the guys to the party, and when Butters's parents were spitting out the coffee.

I've always enjoyed the episodes that somehow deal with sexuality for the kids, like the Bebe's breasts episode or the sex education one where the guys are rubberbanding condoms on.

I refuse to bother with Drawn Together anymore.

Its still edgy, I'm just not finding it nearly as funny as some of the episodes from earlier in the year. I don't really get the break in season 8. The first couple episodes of season 8 obliterate these last ones.

"A bear.....mining for coal.......that's weird." :lol

You guys forgot to mention the pet suicides too.

Cartman walking by the girls was good too. There was lots of little funny things in this one. Still don't think it was as good as last season's best, but was certainly the best of this season by a mile.

And somehow that episode turned into a Mad Max parody, which I thought was great.

I'm thinking one reason is some of the subjects they're choosing - "Wal-Mart taking over small towns" and "news programs as entertainment" could have easily been covered a couple of years ago.

I laughed my ass off whenever I saw Butters in that bear outfit.

It's up there with the best of Season 8, although the first half had a lot more gems like the Anime, Special Olympics, and Big Gay Pile one.

It's hard to match up with Season 7 though; that was gold.

I had downloaded a bunch of the new episode from this season. I hadn't seen any episodes since, probably season 4, and they're still very funny.

The only thing I didn't like about them is Matt & Trey's delight to see people and animals violently shitting on people. I mean, sure it's South Park, but WTF?

I don't consider myself a South Park fan and I thought that Team America was stupid and unfunny (aside from "America - Fuck Yeah")....

...but I thought this evening's South Park was really good. The dog suicides were golden. I was already choking when they showed the dog with slit wrists in the bathtub, and I totally lost it when the next one (the dog committing seuppuku) showed up. The Lemmiwinks reference at the end was great as well. Did they ever do a followup to the original Lemmiwinks episode? The were supposed to.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
The Lemmiwinks reference with Paris Hilton at the end was the best fucking part.

Drawn Together didn't totally suck. It wasn't great or anything, but there were at least laughs here and there. I've only seen one other episode aside from tonight's, and this was way better.

Like the Adult Swim cartoons, I think Drawn Together would work much better in 15 minute blocks. When they try to stretch their premise to a full half hour then it eventually gets tiresome. If they had aborted the Ling-Ling subplot and condensed all the retard jokes into a short 12 minute show, then they would have been above-average.

That's how I normally feel. Though I did catch a bit of the end unintentionally and it was "okay" which is far better than the shit that I've seen thus far.

I think why I don't like DT is because there's really nothing behind the offensiveness. In comparison, Family Guy has its witty/obscure references to look for, Futurama has its heart, and South Park always has a message at the end of the day. And most of these shows don't ALWAYS rely on offensive humor to get people to laugh. It would seem to me that offensiveness is ALL that Drawn Together has, which just makes it come off as kind of sad, pathetic, and not very funny, IMO.

You pretty much nailed it on the head exactly.

Yeah, I would definitely agree with this. I saw the first three episodes of Drawn Together, and it just seems so hollow. There's nothing beyond the the offensive and one-note joke characters. It's like South Park, if there was no social commentary and the only jokes made were about Cartman being fat, Kyle being Jewish, etc.

I haven't watched the show, but if the biggest hook besides the offensiveness is that it's making fun of reality shows, then I can see how it could get tiresome.

As for the episode of South Park, the
Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset
was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.
But I laughed anyway.

"It's like South Park, if there was no social commentary and the only jokes made were about Cartman being fat, Kyle being Jewish, etc."

So basically South Park Seasons 1-4? Because that was still hilarious shit.

I might give you seasons 1-2, but I haven't seen those in ages. Seasons 3 and 4 definitely had plenty of social criticism though. It's not even debatable. It might not have been as well executed as it is now, but it was there.

But umm, Drawn Together still sucks compared to the early South Park, so yeah... I must be missing something that separates the two.

"Keep the helmet on"

I enjoy the reality show parody just as much as the retard jokes. I was busting up when Ling-Ling's father said "What this room for?".
