Looking to spend maybe around $2500 for a 5.1 speaker system.

What is good in that price range.

Would not mind something floor standing for the front but bookshelves are fine for the rear.

Probably a 10" to 12" sub.

As far as subwoofers, I would look at the power boxed SVS subwoofers

Look at both the PB12-ISD or PB12-Pluses if you can swing it:

Of course, you sould also give the Rocket UFW-12 a looksee as well....they are competitive with the PB12-Plus but with auto room correction....expensive but worth the money

With a budget of $2500-ish, you will be able to get reference-quality audiophile sound if you stick with the Rockets.....I cant endorse them enough
