I never understood the whole "web-shooters" concept. I mean, why confuse things for no reason? He gets bit by the spider, so why is it so hard to believe that he can shoot web, when he has superhuman strength and can climb on shit?

Yeah the mechanical web shooters that need to be explained by engineering magic and refilled with some super breakthrough material in little tanks is infinitely more stupid and way less cool than organic web shooters.
