Multiple Spidey's? Multiverse? Well Doctor Strange is in it, so it must connect with that new movie since it's called 'Multiverse of Madness'!

I'm a big fan, but a little worried about this movie. I thought FFH was a bit of a stinker and wonder if there are too many cooks in the MCU-Spidey kitchen. I especially love the Raimi films so I hope this one doesn't let me down.

I am looking forward to whatever they do with this multiverse story. Should be a fun ride.

Theaters should be open by Christmas, if not I’m gonna be disappointed. Also hell yes I love these new Spider-Man films

The fake movie titles were fun, but the official one is much better. This movie is going to be BIG by the looks of it, and kick off the whole multiverse story. I almost want to avoid seeing the trailer and go into it without knowing anything about it. Looking forward to it.

- It's currently the last Marvel Spider-Man film on Tom's contract.
- also contractually obligated to appear as a guest in another Marvel film
- he says he will play the character as long they'll have him (Marvel? Sony? Hmm)
- Chances are Sony and Marvel will be working on a new agreement soon if they aren't already. It's been a huge success.

Cool, looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll be able to watch it in a theater.

Also hope this one is much better than the last movie. I really liked Homecoming but Far From Home was a one and done for me.

Come at me but Homecoming was dogshit other than Keeton. New MJ is fucking horrible, couldn't stand her at all. Never gave Far From Home a shot because of it and doubtful I will this one. The only thing that has my interest is the fact that it might include the McGuire and Garfield verses in it. But what do I know, I like Amazing Spiderman 1 quite a bit and didn't think 2 was as horrible as people thought. Garfield deserved a third movie with the Sinister Six they teased at the end of 2.

Another copy & paste movie from Marvel. Comic book movies have run their course, lets have something new, some variety.

Another copy paste? Try something original?

But I bet you don't care about Shang Chi or Eternals right?

Also, what is copy paste about Homecoming and Far From Home?

Nerdy/weird/socially inept guy, becomes super hero (somehow) at the same time, a random bad guy becomes a super villain. Super hero falls for the high school prom queen type, super villain kidnaps, super hero saves, villain dies/arrested.

The sequel will involve the super hero going through some sort of breakdown, battle to deal with being a super hero and the responsibilities and his love interest will want to get away from the "public" spotlight etc.

The last in the trilogy will generally involve everything from previous movies thrown in a blender, add in extra villains and bigger explosions (and maybe a dance scene).

The end.

Then 5 years later they'll reboot it and thrust it down our throats again, generally the same plot each time but with new actors.

That's the most piss poor example I have ever read. Name another MCU film where the hero is nerdy/weird/socially inept?

Have you even watched Homecoming or Far From Home?
There ain't no girl kidnapping in Homecoming, what other super hero movie has the reveal of the supervillain being the girlfriends father? Homecoming does have the "prom queen" type character but it's far from the focal point compared to the Tobey and Garfield films.
And Far From Home breaks away from the "prom queen" girl trope, there was no break up in that film, there is barely even a love element in it.

Will they though?

Disney wants to get more and more control of the license until they have it fully back. Sony wants to play keep away. Remember Disney was asking for 50% production rights and creative input on non MCU movies for all Spider-Man related movies going forward. Basically Disney was asking for 50% ownership of the license. They settled for 25% revenue sharing for Spider-Man 3.

Furthermore I think Disney would be interested in having full production live action tv rights and streaming distribution rights to all Spider-man movies (because both would greatly aid Disney+).

If Spider-Man 3 does better than FFH I can see Disney asking for all of the above and then some. Sony would likely say "nuh huh" even if Morbius and Venom 2 bomb and we'll be back to Square 1 like we were in 2019.

“The way I understand it is that agreement between the two studios has already happened. I don’t think that they’re going to run into the same troubles that they did as we were going into… was it ‘Spider-Man 2’? ‘Far from Home’ had come out and then the whole thing happened between Sony and Marvel. I think the two studios have worked that out, and I don’t think that that will be a problem in the future. That said, I’m just the actor and I was a part of a few phone calls during that process, but I think they love working with each other, I think they found a way in which it can be beneficial for both studios, and I’m just kind of like a kid in the middle of it, between two parents during an argument (laughs).”

Nobody is forcing you to watch it? If you're not interested, don't watch it. There's plenty of movies I'm not interested that they keep releasing and are popular, no need to get angry about it, just skip it and move on to something else you are interested in.

Actually, no. He is being forced to watch it. By me. Any deviation from the screen will result in severe punishment. He knows this and will be accordingly engaged.

I think they'll continue to find a way to make it work. It's a winning formula.
