It looks like they are doing a multipart poster. Kinda looks the same as the Homecoming one's.
They most likely won't show them in the marketing, they're saving it for the theaters. That scene is like their Endgame portals moment.I don’t see Andrew and Tobey.
With Sony track record of keeping secrets, I would say it is better to just go all in before the movie because someone will leak it or a dipshit horny for clicks asshole will spoil it immediately after the premiere. They most likely won't show them in the marketing, they're saving it for the theaters. I’ve seen worse. This poster just further brings to the life the fact that we are getting a continuation of the Raimi-verse, if only for one film, which is still just mind blowing to me.
it may just make up for how I lacked a connection to Far From Home. I found that movie to be disappointing, but if I can watch it with that end credit sequence rolling straight into this film, maybe it’ll be redeemed.
Has anyone else had just majorly adjust their expectations of what they expected MCU Spider-Man to be? Aside from even the Stark element, I expected the MCU version to be much more Ditko/romita inspired, but I guess we already got a taste of that with the Raimi films and they needed to stand apart.
This version resembles the Ultimate Spider-Man comics more than anything else. I’ve made peace with it, especially seeing as the “classic” Raimi version is now being acknowledged in this universe.
Not so sure. Molina made it sound like they were plucking him straight from Spider-Man 2.I doubt it's a continuation of anything. All the villains are dead in their respective films except for Sandman. They are probably all from another alternate reality from what we saw in the Raima/ Webb films.
Apparently it’s a credit scene.Nothing about Venom yet?
Interesting.
Well, I know there was a post-credit scene in Venom 2 where Eddie/Venom decides to hunt down Peter but are they really just going to carry that arc on in the post-credit scenes? Isn’t this Holland’s last film?Apparently it’s a credit scene.
Nope. He has another MCU appearance still.Isn’t this Holland’s last film?
Maybe I should’ve been clearer, it’s his last solo film? Which just makes it more confusing. How can they fit a Venom subplot into a film with all this shot going on?Nope. He has another MCU appearance still.
You seriously think they’re not going to give the guy a new contract after the last movie made a billion and this one will come close? Sony and Marvel love him.Maybe I should’ve been clearer, it’s his last solo film? Which just makes it more confusing. How can they fit a Venom subplot into a film with all this shot going on?
It's his last contract solo film with Sony, but that doesnt mean they wont attempt to resign him. His Spiderman films are making money and he's still very young. Garfield's last film bombed so they got rid of him. Tobey was too old after Spiderman 3 to continue, and things had been wrapped up.Maybe I should’ve been clearer, it’s his last solo film? I haven't. I have a specific image of Spider-man and the MCU take is too completely different for me to have any interest in it.I’ve seen worse. Well Ock dies in Spider-Man 2 so this one in No Way Home could be from an alternate universe where he defeats Tobey’s Spider-Man & managed to live. Not so sure. Molina made it sound like they were plucking him straight from Spider-Man 2.
I think they’d see it as a missed opportunity to bring back all these actors to play new versions of their characters, but it’s possible. There is the question of them being alive, so we’ll have to see.
Do you think it is possible for then to course correct in a way that would satisfy you?I haven't. I have a specific image of Spider-man and the MCU take is too completely different for me to have any interest in it.
True, it could be. Although it would go against what Alfred Molina implied and I'm just wagering that they want to take advantage of having the actors back and acknowleding that these are the characters we know.Well Ock dies in Spider-Man 2 so this one in No Way Home could be from an alternate universe where he defeats Tobey’s Spider-Man & managed to live.

Either way, it will be interesting.
At this point not really since his entire supporting cast is compromised too. There just isn't a path to classic Peter from the way he's been developed so far barring some extreme One More Day reformatting.Do you think it is possible for then to course correct in a way that would satisfy you?

All I've ever wanted was classic Peter and MJ married and living in Soho but that just isn't in the cards anymore. Garfield was the one shot I had and ASM2 killed that dream dead.
No, where did you get that from? You wanted Peter married to Mary Jane...while in high school?
Tom will likely appear in Multiverse of Madness and the New AvengersIt's his last contract solo film with Sony, but that doesnt mean they wont attempt to resign him. His Spiderman films are making money and he's still very young.
Wow so much wrong here, if you mean TASM2 that raked in more then Winter Soldier.Garfield's last film bombed so they got rid of him.
Yet again wrong, after backlash for Spiderman 3 Sam Raimi didn't want to direct Spider-Man 4Tobey was too old after Spiderman 3 to continue, and things had been wrapped up.
And Tobey & Kirsten refused to return if Sam wasn't directing.
No, cause the poster does look like some cheap photoshop job.Ok, I laughed at that way more than I should have. Ami going to hell?
Is James Franco in this too? Seems every other piece of nostalgia is there to get people on board the bore-fest that is phase 4...
Yeah I'm very much aware of this, Jake would be a good choice tooDude it was pulling teeth to get Tobey to do 2 and 3. Not to mention this one. He almost got out of doing any more Spider-Man movies after the first (despite a three movie contract) with a back injury and they even tested Jake Gyllenhaal as his replacement, which is why there's that part where he's like "My back! My back!" in the second movie. It was an inside joke referencing how he almost got out of his contract.
There are so many stories out thereAnd Raimi didn't get out due to the reaction to Spider-Man 3. He was working on Spider-Man 4 through multiple scripts up through 2010. But the problem is that Sony had a ticking clock. In order to retain the Spider-Man rights they had to go into production that year. Raimi wasn't happy with the scripts and he couldn't meet Sony's release date (again they HAD to get a Spider-Man movie out within a certain time limit or else the rights would've reverted to Marvel).
I know Sam Raimi was working on SM4 up until 2009/10, your right about the time limit (Amy Pascal had already promised a date)
Yeah we know this, but Pascal promise a spring 2011 release for SM4.The time limit wasn't because Pascal promised a date. They are required under their contract with Marvel to put a new movie in production within a set amount of time after the release of the previous one. That time gets extended with each release, but with Spider-Man 3 being released in 2007, had Sony not gotten Amazing Spider-Man filming in 2011 and released by 2012 the rights would've automatically reverted to Marvel.
