Bought the game from their store on Monday (for those in Toronto it's on Wilson between Dufferin and Keele). Pretty cool store...I even saw Tengen Tetris for 50 bones Canadian.

Also, the copy I ordered on EB Games a few weeks ago finally came today after being shipped on Thursday (had no idea the shipping itself was so quick), so I can finally realize my dream of playing Spikeout over LAN.

Game itself is every bit as fun as the arcade version, and the visuals aren't nearly as bad as people are saying (well, save for the run animations)...constant 60fps with minimal slowdown keeps everything flowing fast and smooth. I'd also recommend customizing the configuration to your liking in the training mode, as the default ones all felt kinda wierd to me. Once you figure out how the control concepts work (particularly with charging), it's pretty easy to find a layout that suits your tastes.

Don't worry about that. If they bought it to play it, they either enjoyed it or were able to sell/trade it for at least what they paid.

i couldve sworn i remember reading that sega was pressing more copies after ebgames sold out. regardless, i dont understand how anyone could think they'd be making a profit w/ this game - just doesnt seem like there'd be the demand for it.

really fun game tho - especially online.

Probably because I rarely walk. :lol I've seen bad walking animations in a ton of games (GTA3's was pretty bad, nobody cared), but the running animation just looks unnatural even in the world of video games. Doesn't bother me though.

I'm torn whether or not to buy this game. The local shoppe I go to weekly has a copy or two, but I'm having a hard time putting the $ down on the table. Chances are it will be gone the day I finally decide to go pick it up. Is there a fair amount of people playing this game online ?? because I doubt I'd be playing it any other way.
