Could you link me to a breakdown of those? All I've really read was that the single player was just the normal mode against bots in specific scenarios. That's not really what I'm looking for in a single player component of a game like this.

..and post-launch support is nice, but again, the prime issue here is the price.

Not even close to that, aside from a couple of arena-style areas in which you take on some Octo-girls. Most of the single player takes place over linear stages (think Mario Galaxy sort of progression) against a slew of unique enemies and a bunch of traversal mechanics not found in the multiplayer game. Lots of using the squid form to move around in ink so it's more like a shooter/platformer. It uses a different gear system whereby you collect "power eggs" to level up your gear.

As for an "endgame" to the multiplayer aspect...I dunno, it's a competitive online multiplayer game. What is the endgame you're building towards in Mario Kart or CoD?

This game is ink credible. Nintendo is right, so much fun and massively got that "just one more round" vibe.

Tactical options are awesome. Ink camping is possible but then you are wasting inky time. Bravo Nintendo.

Just been playing it, pretty good, i have it on order anyway for £25, i think maybe the roller is a bit overpowering though, i will have to tweak the sensitivity when i get the full game.

How many maps are there supposed to be in the full game, anyone know?

Yooo I just won a match by 0.1% this game is brilliant.

5 to start with, then more added as time goes by.

Halfway through the match everyone on my team had disconnected. I had an absolute defeat. :(

Roller is pretty good btw. I see the praise now. The feeling of annihilating players with it is really unique.

Well it was fun the 5 or 6 matches I got to play. Then it disconnected mid match and couldn't get back in. Just full of errors :( Bah stupid 1 hour times. Why couldn't it be full day at least?

Barely was able to even play this game - loads of connection errors, and my connection is fine. I understand this is a server stress test, but I hope this doesn't repeat itself come launch day. I play other Nintendo titles without issue, including Smash and Mario Kart.

Kind of disappointing I was only able to finish one round before being disconnected. Did anyone else get the "connection unstable" warning on their screens?

I think after finally trying all of the weapons today (missed out on the Charger during my first session), my favorite to actually use remains the traditional Splattershot. Love the added bit of range it brings and I got pretty effective with using it. But...is it just me, or is the balloon subweapon almost completely useless compared to the actual grenade? Yeah they explode immediately, but the range on them is pretty weak and seems like the damage is even worse. I'm pretty sure I got a balloon rush special and nailed another player with like 3 or 4 of them right in the face and it still wasn't enough to take him out. I would have been better off just keeping the special for coverage's sake and using my gun for the combat.

Maybe that's the point and it's meant more for coverage than actual offense, but still, something about it was really unsatisfying. Hopefully in the full game I can nab a splattershot with a different subweapon!

I was also on a team of all rollers with my splatter shot. Now *that* was a good combination. I inked up a bunch of nice shortcuts for us on the rig map, and the other team didn't really have a chance.

Rollers with support are impressive things.
