Roller is really good right now because it kills so quickly and people are just learning. But it loses in a lot of situations where range weapons see it coming and it can't do much. Taking a second to deploy as well will probably help with balance. Really the most 'OP' part is how much ground it can paint, but of course it is limited vertically.

I must say, I'd enjoy it a lot more with optional voice chat. With randoms like this not being able communicate a strategy like 'head east, they're concentrated there' or being able to choose a weapon based on who else is on the team, makes this a completely random cluster fuck.

The mechanics are solid and enjoyable though. I look forward to playing competitive matches, maybe even leagues / seasons.

Once people get the hang of hiding in ink and/or swimming around through it smoothly, up walls and stuff, the game really changes up. It's a different mentality from just running around everywhere.

Roller is not imbalanced. It's really hard to play aggro with a roller versus good players. Feels more like a support weapon.

Exactly what I've been doing paint when I can and then when my teammates engage in a fight, flank the enemy, stick the roller down and instakill.

I've lost maybe 5 in a row, won none so far. Even using the paint roller, I'm dying instantly to the splattershoot gun, and the matches are not close, like 24% to 75%. Maybe just bad luck with teammates?


I'm like 70% certain I painted over some squids to kill them.

I meant the splatter attack they do, you can easily sneak on them if you turn into a squid, they are fairly fragile, and yes, the only way for them to ill you would be rolling over you
