Have my alarm set in case I'm doing something else and Wii U is currently on. I hope I'm able to connect without much issue tonight.

Watch there be huge issues. Lag and trouble connecting. Hopefully not but I don't want to get to hype.

Also I it's ten Eastern here and I'm really tired today. Lied down around 6 hoping to take a nap but didn't fall asleep and got up at 8:30.

Not sure how on my game I'll be as my eyes are pretty tired.

So it starts in about 50 minutes, but do we know if it unlocks a few minutes early or anything to get people to set up or anything?

The main screen once you start the game says "Look at TV" so unless they've got an option in a menu you need to hit first I'm not sure if it is going to work.

35 mins to go!

Does this support Gamepad off TV play?

Thinking about it, I doubt it, the gamepad is used to Super Jump to certain areas of the map and weapon abilities such as the ink missile. I think that'd make it near impossible to do either of those things alongside playing the game off-TV

Hype rising!!! Even letting my kids stay up to see the game. Will also be voice chatting through my ps4 with my bro as we stress test the game.

they could always just have a button bring up the map unless they're all used up at the moment. i mean ya it might be slower than just tapping, but if I could use the pro controller I'd rather use that since the battery life is better.

does anyone have an image with the controls?

Only 30 mins!

As for off-tv play? I don't think so. I biefly looked through the manual and don't recall it mentioned. Surely it would be if it existed.

They could use a button to temporarily overlay the map on the GamePad's screen while it's being held. (But obviously they won't because reasons.)

It would still take a more time to select a teammate and a lot more time to target a special weapon.

I really want off-tv play to but I recognize it would put a team at a disadvantage to have one player not using the Gamepad.

I can only hope the population will grow enough that Nintendo will eventually add a separate playlist for off-tv play that disables the selection of targeting weapons and only allows warping back to spawn point.
