As someone who usually plays off-TV: I think there will be some kind of provision for it, just not in the demo. Note how the select (-) button is currently taken up by the pre-purchase option, whereas its typically the standard off-TV switch in most other Wii U titles.

The music is already infectious, and I'm not even past the main screen.

This is going the be the first time I've played on a TV in a pretty long time. Just off-tv, 3DS and my new Vita for the last few months.

I have a 32" less than 6' from me, slightly above eye-level but it feels so far away after handheld playing.
