Lol I don't think the levels were vertical enough where I didn't notice someone above me.
Depends on how hectic the game can get and if the other team can push you back. A lot of moments where a roller got faced down by like two splatters or another roller and tried to turn back and I finished them off hahaha >:D

I love it.

My TV settings were set too super vivid so it was like a colorgasm. Was beautiful.

Squid form is going to be the difference between good players and bad I think. Not really anyone used it offensively in the test, mostly just to run.

You can use it offensively? Thought it was mostly for escapes/traversal. Unless you mean for stealth ambushes.

Me a sniper, other team full rollers. Ink uped some creates, got ontop of them and sniped away.

Seems to be the only time the sniper is useful. I used it got a match and HATED it. Awful range, no movement while charging up, and it doesn't do as much damage as I expected.

It's also piss poor for painting the environment, something all the other weapons trounce it with.

Just came up with a new idea for communicating with team members.

A flag/beacon system.

Touch anywhere on the map( as long as it is not your team member) and a colored beacon will appear for all to see.

The colors would be Red, White, and Black.

Red means there is an area that needs ink.
White: means that the area is secure
Black: engaged in fire need backup

I think this would be a perfect way to implement team communication(If Nintendo is hell-bent on No voice chat) and it would be balanced too. For example, a team member may set a red beacon indicating to both friend and enemy that an area needs to be inked. In doing so everyone may arrive in the area or, another team member could stay back and ambush incoming opponents. There would also be the question of which team sent out the beacon for mind games of course.

God dammit why did they make the demo only playable at certain times instead of letting us play as much as we want like every other beta ever. I wanna play more.

I'm a little disappointed I never managed to make 1st place in a match. Got 2nd a few times and came really close to 1st in the final match. Maybe I'll try out the roller tomorrow lol

My 13 year old brother wanted to try it out and we traded off every few matches. When it ended he turns to me and says "Cool, see you at 4am..." Damn it...

Which level did people like more? Even though I played it more often, I liked Walleye Warehouse more than Saltspray Rig. The rig felt slightly too large and unwieldy for a 4v4 battle. It's a better level for sniping and multi-level movement, so maybe it'll be better as I get more used to the game?

There was always one corner of the Rig (with a couple overlooks) that the other team would always seem to ignore for some reason. Once you cover it, it was really easy to defend and wall people out.

It seems like the sniper is meant to be a killing machine. It's just that the starter sniper has medium range so it's not amazing at it, but in the full game when we can get a bunch of different charge guns and skills to help then they will fill their role well.

The Rig because it was a little brighter.

Btw miiverse posts = billboards ingame?

I got first place a couple of times without the roller. I think I only used the roller twice out of all the matches that I played.

I had a ton of fun, but man did I get connection errors out the ass at first mid-match. By the end of the demo period things seemed smoother though. Was that just on my end or did a lot of people get similar errors?

Also seems like a shooter which for once I'd prefer having the gyro's on. Gets too complicated otherwise having to swim/jump and aim at the same time when I swapped over to the traditional setup.

The Oil Rig is the superior level. It's more open and I prefer it's central hub for fighting since it has more things to hide behind/get on top of.

I liked the rig

ran immediately to that big square area centered on the other side of the map. seemed to be a pretty key area to take over.

Ow, my wrists. Decades playing PC shooters and console shooters alike, I don't think my wrists have ever taken such a beating. I turned gyro controls off about 30 minutes in, but there's just something about trying to play a shooter with the wide gamepad that seems to create an awkward angle for my wrists. If this is just a temporary discomfort I'll get used to then the game will be fun.

I never found myself using the gamepad map though, so I would prefer to use the pro controller when the actual game goes live. Somehow I doubt this will be an option for multiplayr, at least at release. I'm hoping they patch it in later at some point since they seem to be doing a staggered release of other content as well.

Yeah I don't think many of the matched were that hectic. I usually stuck with someone if I could. Otherwise I lone wolfed it and just painted everything and swam off if more than one or two guys were in my area trying to get me.

Can't wait to play more but that will have to be the 29th because I'm not getting up in 6 hours to play and I work during the final test.

That's a really cool idea, yeah. Wonder if they will implement something like that. I want at least some form of communication built into the game.

I liked the Rig, I just liked the way it was set up. Warehouse was still enjoyable though.

Let's not forget the tons of content it will have the full game, more maps, single player, unlockables, minigames, customizations, MORE WEAPONS... Freaking Nintendo <3
