That and its a great balance of power weapon. You can just run away from everyone and make good progress for your team, or swing the tide of battle after your shooting buddies clear off the range threats and you make big paths.

I had great luck with jumping to a gunner who snuck behind enemy lines near the end of the fight and just making my way backwards

Yup this is the way I played roller. Jumping to anyone who is far in and getting paths going for the others. Flinging paint if someone is a bit to far to simply roll over.

Ow, my wrists. Decades playing PC shooters and console shooters alike, I don't think my wrists have ever taken such a beating. I turned gyro controls off about 30 minutes in, but there's just something about trying to play a shooter with the wide gamepad that seems to create an awkward angle for my wrists. If this is just a temporary discomfort I'll get used to then the game will be fun.

I never found myself using the gamepad map though, so I would prefer to use the pro controller when the actual game goes live. Somehow I doubt this will be an option for multiplayr, at least at release. I'm hoping they patch it in later at some point since they seem to be doing a staggered release of other content as well.

Did you use the map superjump, because you really should. Also rest the pad slightly on your lap at an angle like a normal controller.

IM USING TILT CONTROLS

Wait this game has taunts? This changes everything.

How do you taunt?

I preferred the rig stage if only because it felt more open.

And I love the inklings actions for both when they win or lose, it's adorable.

Which level did people like more? Even though I played it more often, I liked Walleye Warehouse more than Saltspray Rig. The rig felt slightly too large and unwieldy for a 4v4 battle. It's a better level for sniping and multi-level movement, so maybe it'll be better as I get more used to the game?

There was always one corner of the Rig (with a couple overlooks) that the other team would always seem to ignore for some reason. Once you cover it, it was really easy to defend and wall people out.

I wasn't a fan of the rig for that exact reason. It felt like all 8 players were just sort of doing their own thing and hardly ever came in contact with each other. Warehouse was better.

I liked saltspray rig more if only because the warehouse showed up so many times I thought that there was only one map available in the demo in the first 30 mins.

Also this game is really fun and I really wished I had the money to pick it up day one.

IM USING TILT CONTROLS
This reminds me of how much I loved the character animations in this. I died laughing the first time my team lost a match due to how overdramatic everyone's loss animation was

My first match was bad but it was expected. The entire team stuck to the right corner of the map and never progressed. I also set the sensitivity to max so I couldn't aim at all.

I tried going to sleep but I'm still have too much post excitement.

Anyone else misjudge their percentage all the time?

I lost 2 games, won the rest 9 or 10 but in at least three or four of those wins, looking at the map at the end, I was certain we had less turf.

Overall, I think I thought it was pretty fun...but it also felt like it'd get boring super quickly with no real way of communication, no way of changing weapons without leaving the party, only 2 maps at a time, and just a general lack of feeling of progress. Hopefully the full game will get rid of these fears, but I'm a bit doubtful.

Rig was way more intricate and interesting to me.

Squid form is going to be the difference between good players and bad I think. Not really anyone used it offensively in the test, mostly just to run.

Yeah, that's definitely going to play a huge part. I really didn't see too many people using it besides around the spawn area to get to the parts that needed painting close by. Very rarely saw people using it to climb walls or hide from people. I have a feeling matches are going to feel way different from this test period and the full game once people get a feel for the game and know how to approach the objective.

I only played for the hour, but I'm pretty sure the roller isn't as OP as it seems at first. They are the ones that are going to have to be really be good at Squid techniques since they have no range outside of the grenade and the small area they can hit in front of them by shaking the roller and splattering some paint in front of them. Even towards the end of this demo hour I was able to defeat them easily as long as I saw them first. Keep your distance and use the Squid power to back up and give yourself some space if you spot one too close to safely get enough shots off to defeat them or avoid their close range paint splatter.

It was talked about previously but I'll bring up my own thoughts on it: the jump button needs to be changed. X does not flow well when you need to use it.

My only complaint about the game is that everyone looked the same. I'm guessing the plethora of clothing options we saw in the plaza in the direct will fix that, but having a few hair style options would be nice too.

Screw Motion controls! Felt janky as hell. Turn down sensitivity and played like a normal person. was kicking some ass.

Wii U purchase soon confirmed! (without selling PS4)

Switched off with my wife, her playing the roller and myself playing the splattershot jr. I loved using the jr. and the shield was great for smashing through an enemy offense. She's terrible at games normally, but she did really well with the roller, even made top spot on her team once. It's a great game to switch off on with how fast the matches are. Really excited for the full release.

I'd actually love to see more hair styles in the game.

I agree the feeling of progress wasn't there, it was just a LOT of silly fun. But in the full game, you will earn exp, level up and try to become A+ rank online and that should make every game feel pretty important to do your best in.

Everyone will have a hat in the final game don't worry...lol

I forgot to give you credit when I posted it on twitter.
I'm sorry :(

No need to apologize, it's an amusing pic that people laughed at, I'm happy with that
