Damn, I find the whole thing really balanced. I always had the feeling I had a shot at winning with every single weapon combination. Loved how it becomes a different game which any of them. Also, every single second counts and there is always a chance for comeback.

I loved it, didn't expect to enjoy it this much.

Bro, this ain't

Game was a ton of fun. More fun than I expected for whatever reason. Hope more people get a chance to try it and it does well enough on Wii U.

pretty much. The roller is strong as hell

Yea, roller is definitely the strongest and easiest to play starting out. I wonder if that will hold true as players improve.

People always say they stomped teams with all rollers, but every match I played with my team all rollers, we stomped hard. Just anecdotal, but yeah.

Definitely noticed right away people were going for anti-roller strats more often this time around. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't.

Still, team composition is a problem. Probably around half the times (both hours) I choose non-roller, I ended up in a rollerless team and it was a very uphill battle.

The Killer Wail is so fucking useless.

Nah it's the perfect coverage tool. It has more range than a sniper(don't quote me on this) and it is only used for killing oppents. You can use it if someone is rushing you down our set it up for people to avoid you and then flank.

I want to play more, fuuuu. :(
Super, super fun, even if lots of people need to realize this is not Gears of War, so it's pointless to stand still and shoot at other players.
You need to color every surface AND kill the opponents, if you run into them. But spreading the ink is the priority here, and it's what makes it special.

Enjoyed it quite a bit, very satisfying splatting turf. Interesting concept, nice art design and music is really good.

It's funny following an unsuspecting roller with my own roller, splatting all his turf with my own paint just behind him.

What are the penalties for death though? Seems like you can just use rollers and let your team go ham for the final parts of the match and you can get back to your death position within seconds of dying.

Also is there another way to aim apart from the gamepad gyro? I don't find it accurate and when I want to check my map I move my gamepad but it messes up my camera view

Dang, this game is good. Managed to get like 4-5 matches, was way disappointed when I saw time was up. Won all my matches despite not really knowing what any of the powerup stuff does or how the weapons differ.

The roller seems very fun to use, and also very fun to be in squidform swimming behind people using it. I don't think it's necessarily OP though, when people get the hang of the other weapons and start knowing how to counter the roller it should become less effective.

Artstyle is awesome of course, gameplay seems tight enough.. and I love that it gives you a minigame on the gamepad while loading games.

GG Nintendo.

Man, this game went straight from "looks interesting" to MUST BUY after the demo. It was a lot of fun.

Most people used the roller thing but I found it was very easy to kill them with the super soaker gun. My team won most of its matches.

Congrats to Nintendo, this has lots of potential if they can build a strong community.

Most satisfying kill: jumping down on an enemy with the roller and smashing them with the roller flick and you land.
Did something similar on the rig level with a dash jump over a gap and got a double kill with the roller flick as I landed. Best feeling.

This game needs replays, too.

I got some good communication in on my games. If I was outnumbered or there was a large area that needed inking I would use the "To me!" beacon, and at least 1 or 2 of my teammates would leap instantly to me and help me.

I used splatter shot jr most of the time, and was consistently the best player on my team, if not the entire match (When my team lost, I'd just compare the other team by subtracting the 300 win bonus)

What a superfun game. I really like it. It's pretty hard to master, clearly, because I am getting my ass kicked mostly. I can see the strategies you can apply to many situations though.

Real cool.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but this session made me a believer in Gyro controls. It keeps my aim at head level while I look around and I was able to fine tune my aim more easily than just decreasing sensitivity which compromises my ability to turn.

Well, the game is pretty fun. That Uzi is the bomb, and somehow motion controls are better from what I saw of dual stick mode. No matter what, my hands felt tied when it came to controlling and aiming, but I guess it's like a sack race - everyone is fighting the same fight so it's alright.

But 60 bones? Yeeesh.

Single player and multiplayer too little for your money?

I've been on the receiving end of one where they placed it on the respawn point. They kept us trapped on the respawn point by putting down 2 of them while the rest of the team inked the map.

Yeah, not useless.

Erf, that's awful, Nintendo should put a ward to avoid camping at base :x

The most impressive thing, is playing with Japanese peoples and 0 lag, what kind of magic is this?

Oh there's lag, you're just not noticing it. Saw more than a few people warping around this morning, the result of which was them running into my roller.

Overall though, very solid online experience.

I thought the same thing until I played a match with 0 sensitivity. Was wildly flailing all over the place lol

I bumped that thing up to +2 and wrecked shop. Right stick for normal twin stick aiming, gyro for finesse. Perfection.

2 hours in, and I still can not aim to (literally) save my life, haha.
I climbed on that central box on the dock, and rollers avoided the area as I frantically sprayed in their vague direction, so I make a good scarecrow at least.

Like with Mario Kart, and any other game ever, I am enjoying myself immensely despite the fact that I suck really bad at the game.
God have mercy on my future team members.

Not sure I will stay for the third session, I think I will be playing mainly to collect points and go shopping. That was kinda missing for me. Everything else is fine, I had no issue with lack of voice chat (yay, no one calls me a dumbass for once) or lack of maps. Looking forward to pick it up and play every now and then!

Heh. I fell asleep without setting an alarm yet somehow woke up at exactly 4AM; so I got in another hour of splattoon.

Dominated almost every match with the splattershot. I came in first or second on my team every time. I only lost a couple of matches where my teammates weren't doing a good job laying ink. Great game. It'll probably be really intense once we can start setting up deliberate teams.

there's got to be some use for the fucking charger we're not seeing. the thing is great as a murder weapon but it's a pain to aim and the coverage is terrible!

Okay this game is rad.

Not really feeling that roller, though maybe I was not utilizing it well. Enjoyed the charge gun quite a bit and the regular automatic guns. I really want to try some more weapons now.

So fast, so colourful, so fun.

That was so much fun.

All my team was doing really well in the last match, but we lost really badly and I was confused as to why until I saw that one of my teammates had 0 points.
Afkers already in a stress test, amazing.

I think I was apart of your game in that match on the opposite team. I was wondering how we were winning since we were getting beat pretty bad lol.

Totally sold.

I played the entire hour, but it never felt like the steam rollers were OP or anything. If anything, they felt kind of limited in terms of what they were sacrificing.

What I enjoy the most is moving through maps in painted path. It's so awesome to pass just near a place where 3-4 people are shooting themselves, you go a little higher and shoot from there ^^

Also bombs are very good for defending a strategical part of the map.

I've played only 30 minutes but very fun and addictive. I wish I had more time to learn to better control things though because during the first few plays I was kinda lost and I was just shooting everywhere lol

Can't wait to try the complete experience with more modes, levels and weapons. Customization is going to be so cool too :D

I did much better this session than the last one. In slowly learning.

I still think there needs to be a better way to communicate with your team. Even if there isn't any voice chat, there should be preset messages that say stuff like "I've got this area. Stop wasting time and go somewhere else."

It's silly when everyone on the team starts painting the circle area around the beginning spawn point when one person should be able to do the job alone.

Of course, there is some value in sticking together, like having someone cover a roller or whatever, but with little communication, these types of strategies seem to only happen by accident.

I'm interested to see teams work together either by Skype or local communication and start steamrolling people due to tactics.

That was fun! Really amazing! I went for the first couple of rounds with gyro controls but couldn't handle them, regular controls were much better - at least for me.

Couldn't handle the sniper rifle.

Will buy.

I had the most fun with the regular splattershot and the roller. Splattershot Jr didnt feel any better to me than the regular splattershot when I tried it out once, but maybe I needed to spend more time with it. Couldnt get into charger at all.

The dpad messages should function as this, but right now theres only two and I found little use for them. I guess Cmon can be used to try and get someone to hang with you for a splattershot/roller combo

Oh one thing that was annoying was jumping and landing after spawning and getting killed immediately. I think there should be a second of invulnerability when you jump right after respawning. All though they probably want you to actually be aware of where the enemy is I guess.
