I got to play maybe half an hour, it was pretty fun. Only used the roller and one of the guns. Looking forward to playing the full thing later this month.

This session went a lot better especially due to no gyro controls! :D It's pretty addictive, I'll see how much content there will be to see if it's worth it, but so far it's quite cool. Just hope there's enough players on there in the long run. The sniper is pretty cool also, but you really need to use the high vantage points and whatnot and bully people from there.

So many times I was so pleased with my team, only to find out the other team had one more people with 0 points.

But still! I didn't lose a single game, even discounting those ones! Can't wait for the full thing.

I had a game right near the end where we lost by 7% despite only having two people on our team the whole match haha.

This time around I felt like my aim was a bit better overall but I ran into more 'lag deaths' where I'd die to a roller 20' away or to the roller blast 2-3s after I killed a dude.

I enjoyed my time, just wish Nintendo were more thoughtful with regional pricing. Bear in mind $60 is a lot to me.
I'm not sure this game is worth their asking price. I would buy a lot more Nintendo games if prices were more reasonable. It's the reason I only own a couple Nintendo games, which have a lot of value (Smash, Mario Kart).
Would definitely buy if it was $30 on eshop or something.

Maybe wait for holiday deals. By then you can see how much content was added and you'll be able to find it for at least $40.

Had a great time. Still not sure what type of controls I'm gonna use. I kept on switching but both didn't really click yet. I'm sure that won't be too much of a problem though.

With that said. Day 1.

Or maybe, because we can't do party matchmaking until August! lol smh

joining friends is in the game day 1. your team just isn't guaranteed to stay together as teams are shuffled after every match, but you can absolutely join friends through your friends list.

the update in august adds the fixed 4 man team.

Well this last session was absolutely awful for me, connection wise. To the point where the game knocked the Wii U off the home network completely. Had to reboot it to get it online again. But if the game can be like the first two sessions at launch, then it'll be awesome. Just as long as Nintendo doesn't do what they did this third time. That was weird.

Still, totally a day 1 buy for me. Might even try to get the Boy and Girl amiibo, if that's at all possible here.

This happened to me repeatedly. I'd get error messages and check my Airport Extreme every time - nope, it's fine. Here's hoping they improve this significantly come launch day.

Wow, our team got beat bad during the last and final match. Found out I was the only one doing anything with over 700 while 2nd place around 200 and last 2 had 0......how can anybody get 0?

People who get zero are people who lost connection at the beginning of the match.

One of my matches today had just two people on my team and one on the other. Everyone else disconnected

Wow, the water balloon grenade throwing spree is amazing. Got a triple kill against three rollers and used it on a mostly enemy covered area during the last ten seconds to cover a lot of ground instantly. Did get a better feel for the gyro controls once I understood that you mostly use it to fine tune your aim vertically and use the right stick for horizontal movement. The charger is infinitely better with gyro controls in my experience.

I really hope they let us test again because I'm still on the fence.

I have had comm errors twice, i think it must be due to the load maybe, i have had my fill for half an hour, so i have quit now to give someone else a space, i have it on order anyway, well worth it for £25.

I am interested to see what the leveling up is like.

I will say one thing, the twelve to fifteen games i played there were quite a lot of females playing, i say that as i am assuming that everyone with SquidGirl is a female & not in some pervy way, that is good to see.

I assume so, but does painting paint-able objects (tower of crates, barrels, things like that) count towards the end-game percentage?

I wasn't too crazy with this game my first two games last night, but the more I played the more it grew on me. It's a pretty fun game. Though I think I'll wait a bit later in the summer to buy it after they've added more stuff.

My team had a great comeback win one match where a good majority of the map was the other team's color with a minute left. I don't want to say the comeback was entirely thanks to me since I can't say for sure what my teammates were doing, and I'm sure they were being useful, but I think it helped a lot that I went to an area of the map where nobody else was and started painting over the other team's color. We ended up winning by a comfortable margin.

BTW, has anybody had good results with the sniper-like weapon? During my last few matches I started paying attention to how many people were using it on each team, and it seemed like the team with less people using it consistently won. Maybe people just need to get better with it though. I could also see it being more of a designated slayer weapon while everybody else paints the map. It'll definitely be interesting to see how the teamwork and strategies will develop for this game.

Yay, finally had a go. Really enjoyed what I played. Played as the Splattershot/ 'Assault rife' for 90% of my matches, found it to be a great weapon, easy to attack other players, covers ground quickly, but has low range. I also tried the 'sniper' weapon but was awful with it. decent range but requires charging, and is therefore too slow to kill anyone, particularly with a roller coming at you.
Once you find your role in a team you become a valuable member of that team, even with randoms.

Looks like I'm pretty terrible but hey, I was only able to play 40 minutes or so. I'll definitely be playing some single player first when the game releases though, yikes.

Okay, this was really fun once I got the hang of it. I turned off the gyro because it wasn't working well for me. Once I started swimming to hide/charge a little better and timing my supers/bombs the game really clicked for me. The last game my team won by 47% to 46.9%. I may pre-order now.

Could you link me to a breakdown of those? All I've really read was that the single player was just the normal mode against bots in specific scenarios. That's not really what I'm looking for in a single player component of a game like this.

They're not bot matches, they're traditional linear levels with puzzles, platforming, unique enemies and boss bottles. It doesn't overlap with multiplayer content.

So yeah if a teammate drops out during the match it's pretty much an auto-win for the other team.

Yea this needs to be addressed. Maybe if someone drops, proportionally increase paint capacity for the remaining teammates. Dunno how that would work out.

Either way, I wasn't going to buy this, but after playing 2 of the tests - day 1.

The last two hours playing this game were a total blast and completely convinced me about this game. I finally get the hype from E3 last year.

Once you get your hands on it and feel that mobility, speed and fun... It really is like nothing else out there.

I think you should keep in mind that this isnt anywhere near the full game, its just a demo of one mode, with 4 weapons and 2 maps. With none of the customization options.

Used the Splattershot Jr. this round (and a bit of the Splattershot). By far the best weapon available in the demo.

As someone who did well with the roller off the bat I could understand people getting killed with by the roller a lot early on, but when you're actually using a standard gun rollers pose little threat unless you let them walk right up to you. I can't believe people are whining about them being OP, what a joke.

Anyway, game's a blast and I can't wait for the 29th. My one complaint is that they should add y axis movement to the right stick while gyro is on, I always find myself trying to use that only to have to remind myself that I gotta use the gyro for that. It's dumb.

Also I found a pretty effective strategy for Saltspray Rig is to get to the central area as soon as possible, then lock down that area with one or two gunners while the other two paint the side areas. My team won every round we did this except for one where we idiotically all left the central hub at 1 minute left.

Hmmm not sure what to make of it, felt like I was fighting the controles half the time couldn't seem to get comfortable. Reminded me on the ship controles from the Metroid blast in Nintendo Land which I also hated.

Splattergun Jr. kicks the Rollers ass. I love shooting Rollers and splatting them with that gun. Another hr that flew by. Tons of fun

T_T It's overrrrrr

Man at least I had the greatest time the last match though. This time my last match was a victory!

But yeah right at the end there I was battling some charger with my splat jr... Splatting objects and hiding into squid form real quick to get out of a tight spot is just so fun. Even in a close-range shootout, I just kept doing it and escaping death many times in a matter of seconds

This was the best experience i ever had with a shooter. Usually i suck at shooters but here i'm wrecking shit :D

This game went from a no buy to instant pre order.
