Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

3 teammates at the start just start painting their own area and don't even attempt to gain mid control, I couldn't hold mid and we got pushed to our base and lost.

Please people position is more important than points.

I'm up to level 13 and still haven't used any weapon besides the Splattershot Pro. I can't find one that feels as good, even if I prefer other weapon's sub/special weapons

My little brother thought it was a smart idea to take my copy of Splatoon to church without permission. I'm currently having Splatoon withdrawals.

Another comm error. Oh well, I'd better go eat dinner now. GGs, all!

.52 Gal works well on Blackbelly Skatepark, but it's not quite as good on Walleye Warehouse. Still got a few other weapons I want to try out...

That's totally fine. Not every loadout is ready to tackle everything and some still persist with the basic Splattershot or even the Jr. well after reaching level 20. Play with the weapon you like to play, they're all good.

Maybe they'll come up with a Kamiya-esque "I'VE TOLD YOU 1000000000000000 TIMES, STOP ROLLING BEHIND A GUY WHO HAS ALREADY PAINTED A PATH"

If I had art chops, a mock twitter post of a "Hidinky Squidiya" saying this would be right after an Inkling posing with a paintbrush in Takamaru cosplay a la the box art for the Mysterious Murasame Castle. :lol

I want a mashup of the second final boss theme and Grace and Glory now.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who felt like Grace and Glory fits that entire second half far too well despite the already awesome music in play.

But did it teach you to be better than Andre? =P

Ha! That's the question, isn't it? I'm not sure - I haven't played him on equal footing yet. I could probably hold my own at least a little more now, though!

Now play Ranked Battle and watch as your little inkling goes from scrappy hero/heroine to a mythological figure capable of solo carrying entire matches to victory.
Or get horrifically blown out every time you take a step forward.

Haha, yeah... Ranked Matches can be pretty unforgiving. I understand why that's the case with your rank, but I really wish you didn't get zero EXP from lost (or at least BTFO) Ranked Matches. It really makes matches feel like a waste of time when you lose, and that shouldn't be the case. Again, rank? Totally, make that shit hard to maintain. But EXP... eh, I'm old and don't have time to aimlessly grind in games anymore. Lost matches should still get you some EXP, like in Regular Matches. (I know they sometimes can, but most of the Splat Zones matches I played ended in a knockout for one side or the other).

That said, I wish Splat Zones was available for Regular Matches - I think I like that mode more than Turf War. It's more strategic and requires a more considered approach.

I agree. I initially got this game with the mindset of "Ugh, maybe I have to force myself to like it...' but ended up not being able to put it down.

The final boss was just fucking fantastic. My hands started to sweat, and that NEVER happens with me in games. Everything about it was fantastic, the elements, the vibe, the music, the rewards (end credits music). It was the Nintendo polish I did NOT see coming. I can't recommend this game enough, and typically I HATE shooters.

Yep, I echo all your sentiments. The final boss fight challenged me to the extent of my Splatoon abilities without ever feeling unfair or cheap. It's the literal definition of what a great final boss is; a dramatic, bombastic confrontation that challenges you to use everything you've learned to really earn yourself that victory. Really, truly first-rate work by Nintendo - and like you, I typically can't stand shooters. I feel the exact opposite about Splatoon, though!

Some SP mechanics should be implemented in the online mode for example those sponges that you've to splat to make them bigger.

Those mechanic could really give some twists to the maps, imo.

I agree with you, and hopefully those mechanics will appear in some of the forthcoming multiplayer maps! I kind of feel like they won't, though...

I'm also level 13 and I can't seem to do well with anything but the splattershot jr with bubbleshield. I can't find a reason to be anything else. The blaster seemed promising, but its ink coverage to the ground is too slow to feel very useful. Splattershot Pro was interesting but it's just too ammo inefficient. So far nothing for me has been more effective than rushing around the level with splattershot jr, making quick ink coverage, staying mobile, and bubble shield blasting fools when the need arises.

Does anyone like the Dynamo Rollers? They're so slow that I feel like I have to have clairvoyance to be able to kill people with them unless they never turn around.
