Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Just beat single player.

That final boss.

Holy shit. I'm just blown away by how fantastic the entire boss fight and ending credits sequence. The music. The puns. The comedy. The chaos.

Thank you Nintendo. What a game.

So GAF hates the aerospray now? I think its great. Yeah its not the best for medium/long distance combat but it gets a lot of coverage and I generally get a lot of kills with it since I mostly fight people close range. After switching to it I went from 600-700 p per game without the bonus to 900-1100
In Splat Zones, it is just outranged by virtually everything. You need range on the warehouse, port, and mall. Nothing teaches you the shortcomings of the aerosprays faster than dueling someone down a hallway or from ledge to ledge... they can hit you but you can't hit them.

it depends what you want to do. If you're into duels, aerospray is not fantastic.

If you're into covering a huge area asap and keeping it covered and throwing out specials every damn second of the day and maybe tossing seekers forward too, aerospray is still a great choice. Remember that keeping your teammate's feet soaked or cutting of enemy escape routes is just as good strategy as anything else.

Yeah, aerosprays are more support/backup, not assault.

I've been really enjoying this game. Loved the final boss by the way. I've also completed both the girl and boy inkling amiibo challenges, however I fear I'll never be able to do the squid one....can't find the thing anywhere.

Yeah, I don't use it in splat zones. I use the .96 gal and the dual squelcher. I think its fantastic for turf war though.

I honestly feel placing a mine should take longer cause fuck those guys that place a mine just as they die. It's like CoD and the martyrdom perk. That shit was not fun to deal with lol.
splat zones in general feels way more balanced
It definitely does. I've seen a huge variety of weapons used with great success.

I've also seen the Splash Wall being used way more than you would see in Turf War. It's usefulness in Splat Zones is crazy.

OK, this is driving me nuts. Anyone else have an issue where a friend just doesn't show up online? He's online on my friends list, and is clearly shown as currently playing Splatoon, but when I go into the lobby to check, nothing.

i felt like we were doing well in that ne but then we lost lol

illusion created by my own k/d being good and the fact that i didn't know know about the dc on our side -_-

Might not be in a game you can join.

Basically. And it's not like its kill potential is non-existent. You just gotta be smart about it.

Yeah, in turf war I usually get 7-9 kills per game with it. I don't ever try to kill people when they're far away or down the alleys in port mackerel, just when they're up close or when I can sneak up behind them and get them

I'm rocking ninja squid aerospray atm and it's unbelievably fun. lay down a massive pool of ink in three seconds flat and you could be ANYWHERE.

unfortunately the clean up ink method also hurts you

Is anyone else having terrible problems with lost connections when playing this game? This is the only game I keep having issues with so I don't think it's my connection. Have tried the Wii U wired and it makes no difference.

EDIT: I see just from the last page alone that I'm not the only one.

Glad to see I'm not alone in this. Game is almost unplayable for me.

hm, I tested Special Charge Up earlier today myself and was not impressed. With one main ability point it wasn't a very noticeable improvement
You have to stack it. Some cool abilities to stack 2+ of in general:

Quick Respawn: This is funny and I highly recommend trying it out. It's actually really legit if you get splatted several times a match on average.
Damage Up: Chargers only. Chargers' charge shots can kill in one hit and therefore they do not have a damage cap. Their partly charged shots benefit from this so you can stack Damage Up up the ass to OHKO with notably less charge.
Ink Saver: Self-Explanatory. Also, going by the official guide, Sub has a bigger effect than Main in terms of %.
Run Speed Up: Excellent mobility, worth trying out.
Bomb Range Up: You can throw bombs far, 50% farther with max stacking. That's kind of overkill though and of course certain weapons don't benefit from this.

I would love to invest in ninja squid, but the only gear I have with it sucks.

I feel like pushing too far too early it's a bad idea. Enemies will have the advantage taking over non choke point parts of their map, get you exposed to dying more easily and let them recharge their special weapons.

I agree. You just gotta lock them up. Advancing is a great way to let them out. If you keep them confined to turf they've already spread ink on it will take them longer to get their super. It'll take you longer to get supers too, but since you already have the lead, that's not a huge deal.

I could only connect 1 in 10 times due to my previous wireless router.
Got a new Net Gear one and I only don't connect maybe 1 in 20 attempts.

Looked it up, the modem/router I had was notoriously bad with Nintendo stuff all around (MK and SB included) due to the way it handles NAT/DMZ.
Hilarious thing is, it is/was the default modem (technicolor) for our monopolistic telco (Telstra Australia).

SPLATROLLER DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

God it's ridiculous the damage a single disconnect on your team can do. By the end of my last match I had given up and was just running around transforming into a squid and back to the beat of the music

Actually I think one of the benefits of pushing is to negate special attacks. You need a good team to cover all exits and prevent any stragglers from breaking through though.

But sometimes everything just goes wrong at once and that'll happen regardless of whether you pushed or not.

The only stage I may not like so far is the Mall one. If only because that has been the stage where I've lost the most at lol.

I've tried the gold gun one. Didn't like it. I'm preferring the Splattershot Jr. Back to basics I suppose.

I have to avoid playing at all tonight, otherwise I'll be awake for far too long again. I can't just play one or two matches. I keep saying, "just one more match..."
