So you know how the screen does that panning thing whenever a round starts? Well, I just started a round, it started panning, the guitar riff ended and... I'm still panning. I could see the enemies moving around, painting things, and I'm just sitting there. Watching a screen pan for a minute before I got a D/C error.
Probably because, I don't know, everyone else in the lobby was Japanese?
Where's my American/Canadian brethren? It's not that late yet.
I beat the single player campaign last night, that was a blast
Fucking hate that DJ Octavio starts spamming Killer Wail almost every 2 seconds or so on the last phase. On my first try I died on the last phase, but I finished him off on my second try. And yes, the music was quite awesome. I think I might've been overthinking the last phase though; there's very little room to move, but as long as I don't take much damage from anything else, I have +2 armor and Bubbler to tank Killer Wail with. The machine gun Octarians turned out to be more dangerous than I thought, but I'm glad he can't spawn Octolings and Octostrikers.
BTW, anyone with good tips on using Blasters or suggestions for weapons that can hit in an aoe? As it turns out I really like the splash on the Blaster since it can help me hit enemies on higher ground or around corners, or to flush an enemy out if I need to. I do the same thing with Burst Bombs as Splattershot Jr., but the ink cost for Burst Bombs are so high >_<
I feel that I generally do okay with Blasters, but I really don't know what to do when I'm facing an enemy that has more range than me, particularly on Arowana Mall. It feels like my only reasonable option for that is to get Killer Wail, but I'd like to hear to other suggestions.

Wow! Spawned on the pad in turf war at the port with only 3 there. I kind of went "well ok then," we all threw each other some booyahs to psyche ourselves up, and went at it.
We won 48.7% to 45.5%!
Maybe they saw that we were down someone and assumed it would be easy? I think I messed up the other team somewhat with some lane shenanigans. Kept painting the two main lanes into their base with our color so they couldn't easily swim out, even though they usually had people they could jump to further out. Just kept at it and we got 'em!
Yeah. Some of the random ones just sit at the base in squid form and barely shoot, and when someone does get on them they can't even kill them. GAF chargers are good though.

If you would've tried shooting you might've been able to play like that by watching the map. Someone else had that happen to them earlier, just a weird camera glitch, and you can still contribute to the team. You probably got a D/C because you just sat there, if you don't touch the buttons for too long the game D/C's you.

My tip to you is to learn the distance between you and your enemy to 1 shot them. If you're forced to fight in close range combat (as in so close that your aoe doesn't hurt them) you have to hit them directly or you're dead.
Never try to approach an enemy who knows where you're at since blaster's range is not great. Use corners and edges to your advantage.
There's this blue halfway between the deep royal blue and the cyan/sky blue that comes around every now and again which is absolutely fantastic. There's also a bluish purple or purple-ish blue that makes for some glorious color synergy with some of my old gear.

The issue with the mall is that, unlike the other maps, every route out of the spawn all eventually lead to the same single choke-point, the hill in the center. In order to cross into the enemy's half of the map, you must cross right through that center point. Every other map features middle areas wide enough that you can feasibly enter the middle ground and reach one of the opposing side-alleys for sneakier incursions, but the mall isn't built that way. It's what makes the sniper nests so perfect, since you feasibly only need to worry about keeping an eye on two spots (the center and the opponent's side-alley), and if you can aim, then you win.
Don't really have a go-to yet since I can't seem to stop experimenting, but for now I'm leaning toward the .96 gal primarily, the (regular) Splattershot, the .52 gal, and occasionally the dynamo roller when I feel trollish. I've had both amazing and terrible rounds with the latter, so I don't rely on it as a weapon to truly perform well with, but wailing opponents with that splash is so satisfying!
I barely ever use my Subweapon. It's my biggest oversight in the game. Special Weapon I always remember, but am lazy about sliding my finger to the other trigger button.
Playing Dual Squelcher, the bombs don't really have much more range than the regular gun, but I'm sure I'm missing a lot of mindgames and cool arc shots by ignoring them.
Yeah, this is my stupid connection. I have this stubborn issue where I'm not going to buy an ethernet adapter since it should have been built into the system. Like every other system in the Wii U's generation.
