Looks surprisingly good I think, especially the single player (though the blown up screens don't help the multi).

Here's the pics in the proper resolution:

Well graphically it's good enough for me, but it's the DS features that are the deal breaker. There's no point getting it if it doesn't do anything that the console version don't already do better.

They could at least use both screen for 3D. One for your player and the other to display the location of your friend, or a view from a Sticky Cam, etc...

I'm a bit deceived by those screen.

It does, hence the screens of co-op AND versus ;)

I know this, I'm just commenting on the fact he pointed out that the wireless indicator is on the screens. What else would it use for multiplayer other then wireless?

Wow, nice. I'm still not seeing games that I would play on my DS, but we're getting closer. If I like the bigger console brothers I may even invest in this for DS. I do like what I'm seeing from devs.

Can both screens display 3D at the same time? I thought it was one screen 3D, one screen 2D because of the ARM set-up.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong.

Only one screen can do hardware 3D at full framerate. Divide that up any way you like.

We don't really know that, as no game has actually used full 3D on both screens at once (aside from that FMV intro to Prime: Hunters)

Er, well... The 3D hardware can only render one image every vertical synchronization cycle (at best, 60Hz). Them's the inarguable hardware limitations. There's no reason software (ala GBA) 3D can't be done on the subscreen, and there's no reason the frame-rate can't be divided, but you can't use hardware 3D on both screens at full framerate.

That looks pretty good....

a) too bad the DS is a piece of shit
or
b) the controls will suck
or
c) if we had travelled back to the primitive 3D of last gen

/half compliment :D

Looks quite respectable. Not a fan of Splinter Cell, but if the multiplayer turns out being good, I might give it a look.

I'm surprised to see the 1st person / 3rd person VS mode. Very nice. Looks like a good step up from the N gage version. I'm just getting into the SC games on Xbox finally too. This is a dead cert sale for me. That lock pick on bottom screen is one of the first things I imagined when I heard of an SC port too btw.

Screens must always be at the correct size, unless we start emulating the effects of other videogame screens at 240% their normal resolution.

What about Pac n Roll, that has a 3D pacman on the bottom screen? or Viewtiful Joe Scratch, that has full 3D on BOTH screens. I think it more depends on how you want to set it up, and not anything hard-coded into the system.

That little hardware is more capable than I thought it was cause that looks damn decent. Needs puppies though.

The controls will probably be good since you hardly ever have to run and shoot at the same time.

I don't think you remember how it looked on Ngage :P

The Gameloft version also runs a couple of frames an hour. I wasn't impressed at all when I actually got to play it, although I'm not sure how I got to be so jaded about what's being done with a cellphone.

After seeing these and the Black and White screens, I have to say this is pretty impressive for first-gen games on supposedly N64+ quality hardware. Hardly any over-pixelization in most of the screenshots for either game, and the polygon work seems to be pretty solid too. Hopefully the framerate is good and stable, and this could turn out really nice.
