Splitgate ceases development

Those Steam numbers sure fell off pretty fast. From 60k to about 1k now. And the reviews are good so I suspect people just didn't find it that engaging over the long run. I'm not sure that whatever they have planned will be enough to turn things around.
 
Didn't this game like blew up at first? So we had a rocket that then decided to dive down?

I think issue with this game was that it was way too high skill capped. Because of that the casual crowd wasn't there to support it. Appealing only to the highly skilled/competitive in today's day will make your game die really fast even if it's well designed. No causal appeal = no support.
