Well, that was fun enough. Got a few laughs out of me and I thought it had a few great characters, Lorenzo being my favorite. I'd certainly watch a second season.
Detective Conan is far and away my favorite anime. Glad to see someone else enjoying it. The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.

The final scene of Yuka and Mamoru was bittersweet.

Nice arc with probably my favorite side character so far. Hei continues to go about his business, but his interactions with other characters continues to develop more as a human instead of as a contractor.
I'm still not entirely sure where this show is going in terms of plot. There's stuff like

As expected of Bones?
The true BONES ending happens in the second season.
Everyone will have different opinions, but I think the one most people are looking forward to is Attack on Titan (the manga is very popular and the trailers look great). Otherwise I think it really depends on what you're into.
Give the SNAFU show a go as well if you like Oreimo.
Absolutely. It is very different from any of the above - it's anime targetted at adult women, after all - but in particular watch Jinsei Best Ten, the second episode of the second season.

Ending: The song itself was average and I'll probably end up skipping it alot.
First episode starts off the series well. While it looks like the story is going to take the backseat (besides the missing brother), alot of the comedy genuinely provided alot of laughs. The Golden Ratio of Tsundere was definitely the best along with anytime the cast goes into chibi form. Almost all the characters are likable with straight man Kei, detective Ogi, assassin Gabrielle, and Lorenzo definitely being my favorites, though I'm honestly not that big on Yuuka. Not entirely sure where the show will go but so long as the jokes are still funny, I'll continue to watch this.
Also Inaba's hair as a werewolf is truly magnificent.
Probably not; he didn't exactly write Panty & Stocking, either. Most of the show was written by Wakabayashi and Ootsuka.

Personally, Valvrave for best mecha, Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love 2000% for best anime of the season. And Majestic Prince will be awesome too.
Karneval and Arata also look like must sees.

I'm watching it for the delicious character designs, and didn't even know it had mechs until someone mentioned it here. I'll stick by my choice.
I guess I'm on team hype for SnK but I don't think I can handle it being a Magi 2.0, not this series
They'd have to work really hard to make it Magi 2.0, there's a wide range of disappointment between "good" and "so bad it's awful."
It should be the best action shounen since then if they do it right.

The first episode was really compelling, well the girls voice was annoying.
Of the mech shows this season this is the one I'm looking forward to.

Was direction really the problem with those two shows?
Let's be fair, he did also direct one of the most well-liked adaptations of an extremely popular shounen manga that is often considered better than the source material. He's certainly capable of directing a show like Attack on Titan, so we'll soon find out what happens when he gets good source material again.

Araki is a great director when paired up with a unique combination of cheese and overdramatic self-parody. I'm not sure that particular combination exists in Attack on Titan, nor would fans of the manga want it to become that. So... there's that I guess. Outside of that unique combination, I do not think Araki is a very versatile director at all.
Well, Araki is the one that consistently sexualizing violence against women.

I don't exactly want to see him pulling something like the potato chip scene from Death Note in this series. I think that could really kill it. Not that Death Note couldn't be melodramatic sometimes even in the manga, but the anime was really a 'turn everything up to 11 at all times' adaptation.
My biggest fear is the announcement that the anime is going to have original story material. Based on that, I think there are a lot of reasons to be afraid of Araki's involvement. Especially considering he's the man who somehow managed to make Death Note's ending worse (and that says a lot, given how bad the manga ending to Death Note was).
I dunno.. those kind of things existed in HsotD and Guilty crown and they were both dogshit. Maybe he's with a one-hit wonder (with death note) because idk.
GC's directing were pretty spotty.
I don't think he's very versatile, and AoT isn't as cheesy as his usual material, but it does have lots of moments of over-the-top action, which he's also pretty good at. We'll have to see how he deals with the moments of serious character drama, but I think there are some scenes in Death Note which are also good without resorting to pure cheese.
There's almost no fanservice in the manga, so I wonder how he'll add it to the anime, LOL.
A lot of what he introduced in Death Note and HSotD absolutely did not exist in the source material. Those also tend to be the best scenes. I find the way he directs some of the most over the top stuff to be really fucking hilarious and entertaining. Outside of that, I think his direction is usually pretty flat.
I think the action will probably be excellent, at least until he runs out of Spiderman movie homages (lol). I'm just concerned about you know, the rest of the thing!
