Last reminder:

Well, looks like people were more interested in a Fall 2017 trip to Japan, so here's some updated details if anybody else is interested:

We'll most likely be going sometime in week 41-44.

Going for 8-13 days. Half in Tokyo and then the rest in the Kansai (Kyoto/Osaka) region.

Estimated budget should be about $1000+flight cost if you want to only join us for the first half in Tokyo and about $2000+flight cost if you want to join in on the whole trip. This depends on what kind of accommodation we'll get.

You will need to confirm if you're going and order your own flight by late April 2017.

I will help out getting us an apartment, hostel and/or hotel for a cheap price.

I thought of a few more:
Puella Magi Madoka Magica:
- This is probably a really good fit, but this follows a much darker path than the "lighthearted " moments you liked about P4

Steins; Gate:
- No alternate world, but it starts off silly but get really intense later (very much like P4g)

Little Busters:
- Again, starts off really lighthearted and fun, but gets Serious towards the end

Clannad/Clannad After Story:
- This is a much larger journey and more on the drama and emotional side of things, but the lighthearted first season that gets much more serious later.


Thinking about it, SAO might be the best match for it, lol.

Imagining a world where I still actually get around to watching anime, I'd be interested in the following:

Bahamut 2 - I never watched the first one beyond the first episode, though...
Eccentric Family 2 - same as the above... I liked both of them, but just got distracted by something else!
Granblue Fantasy - only in case of good animation, I suspect; I've not found a swords-and-sorcery anime I've enjoyed in many years
Sagrada Reset - I don't think this is going to be any good but I like time travel stories a lot, so...
Re:CREATORS - ...I'm hoping for a bombastic Sawano OP/ED... and it's got Maaya Sakamoto in it...
Seikaisuru Kado - interesting premise, even if it is Toei x CGI...
Tsuki ga Kirei - I like the promo art, although the story doesn't look interesting in the slightest
Kabukibu! - I want to like kabuki, although the only kabuki play I've ever seen was dreadful - overly hammy and predictable. I suspect this show will have nothing to do with kabuki, and instead will be cute boys doing cute things, so...
Atom: The Beginning - I always want to like Production IG's deadly serious shows more than I actually end up doing, and Astro Boy is one of those franchises I've never made my way into.

I'm never going to get around to watching any of these, though, so it's something of a moot point.

Picking up chicks in Dungeons:Sword Oratoria - I'm interested on how they hell they make Aiz an interesting character without Bell around

Rage of the Bahamut Virgin Soul - Watched S1 on a whim last year to scratch that fantasy itch and really enjoyed it!

Grimoire of Zero - Story sounds interesting, but will have a short leash
Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor - Extremely short leash on this one, but it could be fun
Clockwork Planet - Another short leash here, but it sounds interesting
The very lovely tyrant of love♥ - Hopefully, this is a fun RomCom to watch, but I have no expectations after the winter romcoms that aired...
