Star Citizen - Official Origin 400i Trailer

Check out the trailer for a look at the Origin 400i, a new ship that will be flyable in Star Citizen Alpha 3.15.

We seek the chimeric riches of myth, chase the distant oasis. Our curiosity as limitless as the stars. But these paths don't always lead to maddening obsession. Pursuits that seem impossible to some, push others to greatness.

looks nice, but why only 1080p? while i'd love to blame IGN, CIG is known to do stupid things like that with videos occasionally...

every video CIG uploads should be 4k 60fps at a bare minimum, technical superiority is a big part of what the game is all about

For someone not folliwing this game too much it always looks like a bazar for digial ships whenever I do see something of it.

My daughter was five when this game entered development. Now she's driving, employed. and almost done with high school. Maybe Squadron 42 will launch before she finishes college, but I doubt it.

it's just a video. it doesn't need to be 4k 60fps lmfao. if there is a 4K version great but you do know that most people still only have a 1080p monitor...even people who play star citizen. yeah i know the game is meant to push technology but you're watching a youtube video...

Well they have a 4K version, they often post their videos in 4K. He doesn't care that MoSt PeOpLe HaVe 1080poop monitors. He wants to see the 4K trailer. What a stupid fucking reply.

ok, not really sure what kind of logic this is... so no video should be 4k on the basis that it's a video?

i can only assume that you're going by the steam hardware survey, in which 1080p is currently sitting at 67.5% for primary display resolution.

aside from the fact that the survey is often done on secondary computers such as laptops, while users may have better computers available, star citizen is about pushing technical boundaries as you know and users are more likely to have higher resolutions. between those two factors, i wouldn't be surprised if 1080p displays represented less than 50% of people who are interested in star citizen

that is not strictly relevant though, because the point is that it's virtually zero effort to render the video in 4k. they have the hardware for it, and they have the internet bandwidth to upload it in a reasonable amount of time, so why wouldn't they? even if <50% of users can see it.

and turns out that is not relevant either because they did upload it in 4k, it was IGN(orant) who squashed it down to 1080p for no readily apparent reason. i would be pissed if i was CIG, that's pretty much violating their artistic integrity at that point.

Ok is this an ad for obtainable ship in-game or this is sold for real world money. How much

$220 "pledge"? Or $250 preorder? I'm not real sure how this stuff works.

To each their own. If folks want to spend that kind of money then that's their choice.

You will be able to earn it with ingame credits next patch, 3.16

Idk why people are surprised by this. This is their "way" of generating new funds for the project. They,ve been doing this for years
