Without a doubt... replaying the original as we speak.Looks amazing
Debating whether I should replay the original before diving in
This game dominated a huge part of my life when it first came out

Cool, I played a lot of Starlink: Battle for Atlas when that released on switch kinda hope this new Star Fox takes elements from that when it comes to going in and out of atmosphere.
EDIT : Ok just got done watching video, Shame it's still limited by old game design I had hoped they would have done major shake up since we've seen games like No Man's Sky and Starlink.
Definitely, and that face-track feature won't do it any favors.I don't like the way Fox looks, there's some uncanny valley creepiness going on, but everything else looks pretty good.
"Why are we here? Just to barrel roll…"They really made james look like Kazuhira Miller
Lol you bitch, I have had to step out the lab and wipe my eyes from suppressing the laughter that pic caused. People asking if I'm ok as I'm wiping my eyes & snorting, can't show them what just set me off lol.
instead of taking the lazy bump-up-the-resolution-and-framerate-and-call-it-a-day approach they normally do for all their previous re-releases on new generations of Nintendo hardware.
Y'all crazy![]()

.
But I'm happy Remakes are being celebrated again.
Best looking exclusive thus far 2026.Did you see the game in motion? It looks empty and bland.
They remade Link's Awakening, Super Mario RPG, Thousand Years Door, Mario & Donkey Kong, Kirby, Famicom Detective Club, Advance Wars 1 + 2, Let's Go Pikachu/Evee, Diamon & Pearl, and Metroid Prime was almost a remake, what are you on about ?
If you mean Wii U ports, of course, as they had a terrible life on that console and thet Switch is barely more powerful than the Wii U. But name the ones you have in mind. Most of Nintendo's re-releases are just lazy up-rezzed ports, let's face it.
Your personal experience doesn't change the fact that the games I've mentioned are pretty much all remakes besides Metroid (and this one can be debated).Of those games you listed, I've only played Link's Awakening, Super Mario RPG, Mario & The Thousand Year Door and Metroid Prime. The former two I've never played before so I cannot comment on the visual upgrades but Link's Awakening might have looked nice but it had performance issues on Switch that put me off playing it until I got a Switch 2. Mario & The Thousand Year Door was disappointing; it might have looked slightly better visually but it ran at 30 fps instead of 60 fps so felt like a downgrade. Metroid Prime was very good but it wasn't really a remake per se; it was more of an enhancement of the original and when I played it it pretty much looked how I remembered it from the GameCube even if the reality was the graphics were improved.
Always been that way. Only ties to Corneria is Fox graduating from the Cornerian Defense Army Academy. They are Mercenaries for Hire.Has Star Fox always been a mercenary group
I was thinking something is off.. and this is it. They should have gone with there 'cuteness' graphics which is a differentiating factor for them. This game doesn't look like a real Nintendo game. They cooked on the graphics, man.
or add a SNES mode for graphics, that game has its charm.I really wish they remade the 1st Star Fox with those graphics.
Look at how amazing these are.
We have come a long way from the SNES Starfox. It cracks me up.
Like a night and day difference.
Looks awesome, but not anything that's gonna move Switch 2s beyond the Nintendo faithful that have already bought.
What does that even mean? Contextual prompts up the ass?modern gameplay

I don't know. I'm ready for a super polished game with tried and true amazing gameplay mechanics. After playing Crimson Desert for 100+ hours (and mostly enjoying it), I'm ready for a tight and super polished game.On one hand it looks amazing.
On the other hand, Star Fox 64's gameplay is so on rails and dated, I have 0 interest in every playing it again.
Was really excited thinking we could be getting something big like a NEW Star Fox with modern gameplay (I've always dreamed of a modern Wing Commander like Star Fox).
More open, non-linear rails gameplay (or at least increase the size of the areas). Additions to the gameplay to bring it up from its simplified arcade game style state to something that feels less like a 5 minute grab and drop experiance to a full experiance worth $60+.What does that even mean? Contextual prompts up the ass?
Classic Starfox will always be an arcade game at its core which means that its gameplay will always be "dated" from the perspective of the current industry trends, but that's a good thing not a flaw.
