Thats actually looks awesome. Very close to the original while made it with updated visuals. Thats nice.

I do like that the cutscenes really seem to be fleshing out the story. The whole prologue is building up Dr. Andross as the villain in such a cool way.

This is easily my most hyped game at the moment. Not that there's much competition. I'm sure I'll get GTA6, but I'm not hyped for it.

2026 seems to be a pretty good year so far for me who likes JP games. DQ7 Reimagined, RE9, Pragmata, and now Star Fox - all up in my alley.

Looking forward to play this new StarFox... I was never good at it on SNES or N64, and usually not good at rail shooters (I did finish Panzer Dragoon I & II though). Hope my old reflex is gud enough or have enough juice to git gud.. ;)

It looks very realistic and making me uncomfortable, like they lost the characters charm,
probably just for me though.

Oh well I've already played it several times so I am gonna not buy it again; good thing for people who never experienced it.

Very slowly getting there in reasons to buy a S2. Fast Fusion, Mario Kart World, Metroid Prime 4 and now this. Just another half dozen exclusives or bangers from Nintendo and I'll get one!

Man old Kat reminds me of this pretty girl I used to be in love with in high school. She never gave me the time of day.

New Kat looks like same girl after she decided I was worth her time. Only now after high school I kept rising while she was ultimately recycled, reused and reduced.

Fox looks like he gained weight.

After the movie Fox knows he can't be too pretty. The women would never leave him alone.

The game looks bad to you? or you are mad for not having a Switch 2?
Its looks great for a game that's about to release... in 2013, 2015 maybe?

It would objectively be better if Nintendo gave them a real machine to make these games for.

It's a shame the devs are forced to develop for such weak hardware. I guarantee you they look at other devs with envy.

Lol.. What? Thats a low level bait 😂😂.

How is the bolded not true?

You release a game with those visuals in 2026 on any platform but Switch 2 and it gets crucified.

There's a reason why we always say, It looks great ... for a Nintendo game..

This isn't bait or trolling, infact, disagreeing with my statement is clear fanboy behavior lol

Nintendo devs casting an envious eye over the likes of Housemarque who are on the verge of collecting their P45's for instance.

Star Fox on the SNES was inspired by Thunderbirds, Miyamoto said it, that's why it has that 'look' with the creepy puppets. The Japanese box art even had the Thunderbirds looking handmade puppets. Personally I was never really a fan of the art style, but I have to give them props for actually going for the look they always wanted to achieve now that the technology allows them to. They finally have their realistic puppet video game.

What games from that period do you have in mind that look like this?

It's a shame it's not releasing with path tracing and ray tracing and 4k/120...

Sadly though, it's bullshit like this that has fucked over the gaming industry with over inflated budgets trying to cater to the less than 1% of gamers ONLY worried about how much better graphics can get. Focus on gameplay over graphics and the video game industry would be in a FAR better position. I can tell you this much- I FAR enjoy playing that "old" Super Mario World over ANYTHING released today.

Maybe he's thinking of this 11 years old release:

Or this 12 years old free roam launch window title:

Or Ryse: Son of Rome, or Arkham Knight. Maybe DriveClub. Or Killzone: Shadow Fall. Pretty hard to guess, plenty of stunning releases from 2013 to 2015.

That's fair. All of these have aged incredibly well, visually. I don't own a PS5 but have they definitively been surpassed?

This feels like a step up when it comes to what Nintendo has released so far on Switch 2.

It weirldy remains me of Prime 4, but better.

Well, yes.
And no. This Gen has been basically all about Ray Tracing and 60fps. And 4K. If you can notice (and you can notice) the difference between cubemaps + SSR and RT Reflections, yes. If you can notice the difference between baked GI and RT GI, yes. If you can notice the difference between PCSS and RT shadows, yes. If you can notice the difference between SSAO (in some titles, artifact-free version of SSAO) and RT AO, yes.
Unfortunately this has also meant plenty ambitious releases suffered from noticeable RT denoise boiling, bad IQ, unoptimized performances and so on.

Generally, a very good release nowadays smokes last gen games, even though there's things in The Order: 1886 I haven't seen surpassed, and same for certain aspects from the other titles mentioned. DriveClub rain physics and simulation is still unmatched. And imo same goes for its dynamic weather system in general.

These are only from 2013 to 2015, there's mindblowing stuff released last gen from 2016 to 2020. And, obviously, mindblowing stuff released from 2020 to 2026 on current gen machines.
