I want to see Flash win the Blizzard Global this year and laugh his way to the bank. Heck, even qualifying for it would be a huge achievement since they're just starting to play SC2 now and it's like 6 months away.

Well considering Flash's bio control TvP would be easy, he'd easily be the best TvT, and TvZ there's no defilers and ultras are bad so he can't lose.

The only question is whether the games would be entertaining as BW.

Flash practices like 14 hours a day. With a subscription to GSL Code S and watching some IPL4 and MLG WC VODs, they'll be caught up in modern strategy super quickly and the ridiculous practice regime will get them used to ladder trends pretty quickly.

6 months to catch up to current players is possible.

I wonder how the leagues will be set up. Clearly they'll be working together in some capacity, but will GOM teams be allowed to participate in the proleague and vice versa? If they mix the teams, I doubt all the GOM teams will make it in; 10 teams participated in the GSTL, and there are 8 BW teams...18 would be too much.

Personally I hope OGN does a separate proleague with their 8 teams, and also runs a non-team tournament like OSL/GSL/etc with qualifiers. Maybe give Flash, Jaedong, Bisu, etc seeds alongside top SC2 players like MVP, DRG, MC, etc. Likewise, GSL would give some code S seeds to BW players and allow others to qualify

So perhaps while the OGN proleague runs, a GSL season will run on GOMTV. And when OGN's OSL type tournament is running, GSTL will run on GOMTV; having a team league and a solo tournament run at the same time seems more fair than having both team leagues competing with each other at the same time, or two solo tournaments at the same time.

Then at the end of the year have the top four OGN teams and the top four GSTL teams (based on a points system) play in a big tournament to determine who is the best team of the year. And of course the newly relevant WCG would basically be the final big solo tournament of the year/season

I don't think GOM should give Code S seeds immediately, but Code A seeds could be reasonable. We're not really sure how good the KeSPA players are yet.

Ya I feel like they won't need more than a few months to adjust to the new UI and mechanics and be caught up on all the strategies and trends. They're already super good at all the transferable skills like map awareness, minimap awareness, BoX mind games, and just being really fucking fast for multitasking.

Dunno. It would make sense to reshuffle Code S a bit, not just to bring new blood in but to boost ratings. Say, if four spots were given to BW players/legends (Flash, Jaedong, Bisu, and Fantasy)/

I don't think those superstars would want to play in Code S until they feel ready. Nobody is under more pressure to perform in SC2 than those guys.

I'd buy GSL with Flash in it just to see his games.

I can't tell you the exact financial details but the sponsorship will last 6 months. I believe it is appropriate amount of support considering our team name.

Why do you think LG decided to sponsor IM?

2011 was the happiest and the proudest moment for Team IM. Despite ridiculous schedule, our players showed outstanding performance regardless of the events and as a result IM is recognized as one of the top teams in SCII. I appealed to the corporations that winning games isn't everything to E-sports sponsorship. I gave some examples of foreign teams with excellent sponsorship programs and I guess this helped a lot.

LG sponsorship is a great asset to Team IM. Any thoughts?

Through this sponsorship, we are now capable of maintaining a stable team and invest even more aggressively. Not only that, we can now invest more into training our players. For the past year, I wasn't able to sleep comfortably. For now, I am going to sleep all day without any doubts and problems in my head.


What are the benefits to the players?

First of all, we will now pay players every year. This is a little "gift" to all the players who stayed and played with IM. Especially, NesTea and MVP will receive top-tier salary. In addition to this, all traveling fees as well as basic fundamental fees will be covered.


Any other sponsorships you have in mind?

Yes. Although I can't tell you in details right now, please be patient with us.


This sponsorship will surely effect other SCII teams. Any thoughts?

This event will surely benefit other teams. I have a feeling that this event marks the beginning of the full potential of SC2 teams. Also I hope this sponsorship could deliver the message to public. We still have so many things to show and we put a lot of effort in to it. I hope all our efforts are paid off in the future starting with this sponsorship.


In addition, IM is preparing LoL team. Can you tell us more about that?

We started to build IM LoL team since last summer. At the same time, Team Startale created their first LoL team. I was amazed with Jong wook's (ST coach) progress. However, I am having hard time gathering LoL players. It was very hard for me to scout great players from great teams and I was disappointed with the players' mindset and attitudes. I met many foreign players as well. Now we completed our LoL team with solid players and we will announce the details very soon. Please support us!


I'm pretty sure SC2 fans are happy as well. Any words to the fans?

Recently you were assigned as Esports Federation management leader. Recently SC1 teams are switching over SC2 teams. How do you feel about this?

The transition of SC1 teams to SC2 is really great for E sports in Korea in general. It will provide great momentum to the growing E-sports. However, I think it is really important to listen to the BW players as well as their fans. Also I think current SC2 teams should be acknowledged and respected. We really need to work together on developing korean E-sports and not fight over it. It is important to look from the perspective of our fans. I hope the day where all our fans can enjoy to come in the near future.

In competition with BW teams, what do you think SC2 teams need in order to survive?

I don't understand why we have to be the "survivor". Purely based on skills, I think BW teams are the ones who have to try very hard to "survive". Also in respect to current E-sports, I think SC2 teams are already a step ahead. However, we are no match to Corporation based BW teams. In the worst case scenario, if they recruit some of our valuable players, then we may have problem. As a result, I think it is really important for us to stay hopeful and be proud of what we do and I can only expect bright future for us.

the problem with tvp is that terra are used to bio, if flash can play it and find new ways to utlized some units like hellions against protoss he will destroy shit.

the main problem with hellion in tvp is that they are too weak late game because of the upgrades disadvantage.

OMG, I can't tell you how hard I'm laughing. I got the Wilde gifs from the Footy thread because one of FootyGAF has a big obsession with her, and people always give him a hard time because of her square jawline making her masculine. I personally find her attractive, and I think she was very cute in Tron. But I don't think she would be in my top ten.

HoTS with some BW pros, it was obvious for a while.

Also I expect there to be something CS:GO related and maybe Halo 4 related since it's close to E3 and all.

Goddamn ballers. Best part of the lower east side you can walk in any one direction and you'll have stuff to see and shop. Lots of food and bars if you walk down. Tourist traps like the Empire State, Times Square, and Madison Square Garden are all walking distance from Flatiron.

OK gaf - recently I started playing SCII and I am getting my ass kicked in the single player on normal difficulty. I am still pretty early in the campaign (around mission 10) and know if I tried multi it would be a joke.

Do you guys have any good tips for a noob? Thanks in advance!

For campaign: Build marines and medics. Then build some more.

Also build some SCVs at the beginning.
