Starfield - Free Lanes Update Trailer Released

It would be amazing update if not for the fact that starfield core gameplay is just shite hoping toward copy paste same 5 facilities.
Space stuff was shite but it was least of it's problems.
 
Glad I held off completing it so they could make some of these improvements. Seems to be the only way to be able to enjoy a game at it;s best these days.
 
Looks good from the trailer. But with my intolerance to loading screens..., I need to see it being played first.

The new update is supposed to vastly increase the number of facility types and lower the odds of you getting repeats.

Many more planetary POIs: You'll notice an increased variety in the types of planetary POIs as you explore.

Is the actual quote. Not sure where you get vastly from. Unless I've missed further info.
 
I'm sorry but a certain game came out of nowhere recently and just schooled Bethesda on how diverse an open world can be. Between that game and GTA6 this has no chance to gain any significant traction, even with the PS5 release. Should have waited for DLSS5 before releasing this so at least it would have a real hook.

Does Todd read GAF? This is almost spot on what I've asked for in the OT. Except the more immersive flights with interuptions being optional, I think they should force you to do these space ship adventures, no easy fast travel. But I'll definitely jump in for a replay. New build or continue on an old one? hmmmm
 
Thinking of diving in for the first time on April 7th once the updates land. Is it actually worth it now?

I know Bethesda isn't calling this a "2.0" officially. Are the rough character designs, constant loading screens, and clunky quest flow still an issue, or did the recent QoL passes actually fix the friction?
 
Oh, it's just free flying between planets? I thought they were finally going to have seamless landing and takeoff. But of course this engine couldn't do that, lol.

This update looks really underwhelming for what people have been calling "Starfield 2.0".

I found no general OT for the update, there is lots of talk among PS players but is there any interest among those on PC or Xbox who already played it pre-update?

I'll be jumping back in on PC tomorrow. Didn't think it would be such a big deal but I'm actually very excited to see what they've changed! Especially the auto pilot when going between planets and crew interactions and interruptions sounds interesting. I don't expect Mass Effect but I hope I'm finally getting some solid use for the spaceships I've spent so much time designing.
