Early access my ass. They released it already. Don't make excuses for them.

What happened to their "day one" strategy? Should I pay more to get what they promised me?
It's Phil's ass.
Battle passes level up is a thing now. You pay to skip up levels, instead of grinding it.You buy battle passes to facilitate the grind, not skip it.
It's a scam that acts as a value product. You as a consumer feel good when you buy these stuff.yes, it’s like speedy boarding for economy flights…so what?

I personally am not making excuses I just know how it works and how its becoming more of a trend for games recentlyEarly access my ass. They released it already. Don't make excuses for them.
$1 per review score point. Noice!Paid $87 for Premium on Steam. No regrets.
Agreed. I can't imagine a business wanting to make money that they've spent over half a billion on. Scum of the earth.EA here is bullshit and purposedly timed with the long weekend. MS is pinning too much on Starfield, we Gamepass loyalists, suffer because of it.
EA only grants DLC and not base game, more fuckery
All good, you didn't mention you were referring to that particular mechanic in the og post so I was confused. Yeah, paying for battle pass and then paying to skip it is a little ridiculous. I imagine, more people than I would like to think use it.Battle passes level up is a thing now. You pay to skip up levels, instead of grinding it.

EA is king at they do.EA here is bullshit and purposedly timed with the long weekend. MS is pinning too much on Starfield, we Gamepass loyalists, suffer because of it.

er…making more money is a genuine reason, it’s the whole point
It's scam, because there is no need for early 5 days.its not a scam, you are getting what you pay for and what is advertised
Early access games are open for development and are released months or even years before their actual release date. There's no 6-day early access. We all know they'll release the same game. Those who pirated the game may have already finished it, but as a Game Pass user, I'm waiting for September 6th. I don't care about Starfield, but Microsoft's greedy attitude and indirectly breaking their promise is disgraceful.I personally am not making excuses I just know how it works and how its becoming more of a trend for games recently
You want in on early access you buy the more expensive edition that also comes with the first DLC
If people can't or wont spend the extra 30 bones for it thats on them
I was wondering when you will come here with your knighthood.
I wonder if you work for MS/Xbox.
Also when did pointing out bad practices become a bad thing? These steps are the same reason we are stuck with mtx, all because people paid for horse dlc.
It's scam, because there is no need for early 5 days.
I could tolerate the dlc and other extra content as those offer more value, but paying early access is pure scam.
there’s ‘knighthood’ in pointing out to you that in a subscription service for games, you don’t pay for the games on the service?
There is making money, then there is making artificial value.I don’t think you know what a scam is, the “need” for an early 5 days is so they can make more money.
No, just you jumping on any news that sounds negative to Xbox and defending them.there’s ‘knighthood’ in pointing out to you that in a subscription service for games, you don’t pay for the games on the service?
There is making money, then there is making artificial value.
Early 5 days is artificial value that offers nothing to the consumers.
They make money from the actual release. They are not losing anything.
Reviewers said that it gets better the longer you play.I played for 5h, but I am a bit underwhelmed. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but in no way anything new. It's just Skyrim/Fallout in space with a lot of empty space ("planets"). I prefer a smaller map that is denser with content.
Gamepass tax

It is artificial value from consumers side.they are not losing anything but they can gain more, and there’s nothing artificial about the value because the ones that have bought it have valued it
It is artificial value from consumers side.
From company side, it's about making money. From consumers side, there is no value for 5 day early access.
I don't think they will do any sale for this game any time soon.Your English is fantastic
I agree with you as well. This practice is disgusting, especially at this price point.
People need to have patience. Starfield in 6 months @ £25 on sale is not going to be a worse game than it is today.
It's why I keep telling you it's scam.the consumers that bought it disagree with you
It's why I keep telling you it's scam.
It's artificial value to make consumers spend money. It gives them satisfaction of playing the game 5 days early compared to others.
Your first class airplane is example of that, even though it's the same plane and same trip period.
Any artificial value is scam designed to dry consumers their money.because it’s not a scam, again, people are getting what was promised and what is advertised
Its not a scam to me in the least as I am getting exactly what I was promisedIt's why I keep telling you it's scam.

Yet people are defending these practices. This is just another “horse armor” event. Now it’s 5 days for $30, down the line it’ll be two weeks for $45, then a month for $60..
I agree it’s awful. Although while I did not go for this with Starfield I’m honestly not sure what I’d have done if Nintendo did this for TotK.. I’d probably be part of the problem.
Good advice, will take that with me.OP you apologized too much.
Stand straight with your shoulders up and just say it
What will you say when the industry adopts this practice? Its not a scam to me in the least as I am getting exactly what I was promised
1st party are meant to be day 1.Mortal Kombat 1, Baldur’s Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy, Battlefield 2042, COD MW3 and many other multiplatform games have - or had - more expensive editions that provide early access to the final game.
Those certainly aren’t GamePass games.
Any artificial value is scam designed to dry consumers their money.
There is no need to do 5 day early access, yet here we are.
This is the same thing that people defended for mtx. People said that it offered value and now look at where we are now.
All we are doing is give companies a reason to charge us more money.
Right now, it's MS that is charging this. Next time it will be EA, Sony, Activision and other industries.
I admittedly am 100% the whale you speak of and if I can be totally honest I don't much care about the feelings of the wannabe whalesMilking whales is a great thing for everyone except for wannabe whales who can't afford it. You can't wait a week, what is wrong with you?
Ok when it becomes just horse armor I will passWhat will you say when the industry adopts this practice?
We are seeing dlc horse armor all over again.
