Nobody developers based in hellscape known as the UK managed to fix up No Mans Sky.

There is zero excuse for Bethesda with multi-billion dollar backing to not be able to do the same.

I enjoyed Starfield for what it was for 60 hours. It has too many problems without doing a huge overhaul to having any lasting appeal beyond that. I will see what they add here though. It would have to be really good to make me want to install the game again.

So i am watching this and all the additions are quite underwhelming. Its mostly quality of life fixes.

They haven't fix POI, no planet landing, no removal of loading screens etc

Disappointing

Yeah it's a story dlc. Not sure if something else is coming in the future or not.

One of the worst parts of Starfield is: space travel and combat = So what does Bethesda do? Add more of that, lmao, I can't anymore.

DLC being added to Premium owners is nice I guess. Seriously Bethesda, I like the game, the combat is super fun and cool, the visuals are really nice to look at and the mystery/story is intriguing but bruh they keep doubling down on the worst parts, just why????!!

I don't regret my purchase and time played, just disappointed. It's a long ass game with some really cool sections but also some really frustrating design choices.

Not enough to bring me back as someone that's already completed the game though.
 
Any changes to the base game since launch? I really want to like this game, but traversing planets was terrible and so many of the side quests were awful. I didn't understand the point of running 5 minutes on a planet with absolutely nothing in between point A and B, only to find 3 enemies and a box of junk at point B. It felt like a giant waste of time.

To be fair, they never claimed 2.0 type shit. That's just something Reddit made up. They even tried to get ahead of it and set expectations with Todd himself saying:

" ...for expectation-setting, I think it's the kind of thing where if you love Starfield, we think you're going to love this. It's updates and things that change the game, not in an isolated way, but sort of meta. Using outer space and things in ways that we haven't. But look, if Starfield is something that didn't connect with you right away, or you bounced off it, or found it boring in places, I don't think this is going to change that fundamentally."
 
I really just have no interest in the space travel and combat stuff. I've said it before but they ironically killed the feeling of exploration you get from a Bethesda game by making the game have thousands of planets connected by space travel. By all accounts for those interested in space travel, it's not really a good version of that anyways and this doesn't look to change that.

They can improve the space travel combat parts but I just am not looking for that when playing a Bethesda RPG. Give me a huge map I can wander around in happening upon shit.

They were once pioneers of the modern open world "massive continuous map" concept and just killed all of that with Starfield.

I will most likely do another play through to check out the story DLC but I'm not highly motivated to do so. Actually replaying Fallout 4 right now, that's a very underrated game.

Solid update. Not much in terms of planet exploration?

Not sure how it plays these days. Will probably delay my playthrough for next gen of consoles. A good amount of DLC would be available by then.

Not the final thing.

They said launch was just the start. There will be no 2.0. They will keep updating. I wouldn't be surprised if it received updates till Starfield 2, some 10 yrs later.
 
Its just so disappointing to witness. I want to love this game so much I can't even rant properly.

I read every bit of lore and every character interaction when started fresh. After a few mission's outcome I realized this is intern-level writing and nothing mattered from then on.
Keep adding features into the game for years (I'm glad) but damn you don't fix the story/writing than what is even the point of playing an RPG. Worthless.

EXODUS, you better not disappoint. Can I get just ONE good AAA space game to invest 1000 hours in, what are we even doing here gaming industry.
 
I'm out of the loop but is hows the qol atm?

My biggest issues where the black screens and and the exhaustive takeoff scenes. Also the menus were just too limited.

Nothing changed except galaxy travel, though I can guarantee you it will easily get old sitting on your ship traveling to other planets and seeing the same stuff over and over and most ppl will just go back to menu fast travel.

Keep complaining about dumb things, thats what they will fix first.

Expect next large update to address loading screens.

Only after that they will do something meaningful.

The problem is they do not believe the game has long legs, bonus their studio hanging in the balance like no mans sky was.

They will put a few patches out hope for a few sales and move on to elder scrolls. They don't want to spend the resources needed to relaunch the game imho.
 
All improvements welcome. I will replay this at some point in the future, so the more they advance it the better.

Yes, I enjoyed it in its original guise, the scope of the game is quite incredible. Definitely had its issues, but still a great time.

Lacklustre RPG becomes slightly less lacklusre. Yippee. Sounds like that might be going from a 5.5/10 to a 6/10 for me. Still cannot fathom out how I wasted 150 hours playing this low-grade B-movie sci-fi effort with its 95% of procedurally generated tedium. (Not) Looking forward to it!

That's because they and the defenders of this game thought modders would step in and save the day.

Only for the modding community to turn around and give them the middle finger because of the fact that the game is unsalvageable.
