Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt has died in hospital in Spain aged 68, his manager has said.

He died from a severe infection after being admitted to hospital on Thursday following complications to a shoulder injury

In October, he said he would no longer be performing with his band after suffering from a heart attack in the summer.

The musician has suffered a series of health problems including having to undergo a quadruple heart bypass in 1997.

Fuck, i wasn't a huge Quo fan but my dad is a huge fan, grew up listening to a lot of Quo, i do appreciate them

Always wrote catchy songs, but their back catalogue is more straight rock.

RIP Rick

This is me.

Wouldn't have said they were my personal favourite but had utmost respect for them as a band from growing up with the back catalogue played at me.

Sad news.

My brother and father love Quo, my brother in particular idolises them, they still go and see them multiple times per tour when they do it, very sad news.

Yeah, my mum loved Status Quo: I remember one time being absolutely dumbfounded when my mum said she was going to a rock concert... turns out it was to see Status Quo.

And they still didn't find the fourth chord, damn.
I was never really interested in their stuff but to be honest I never liked their bigger hits, expect Matchstick Men, that one is really ace. Maybe I should go give them a try, their 70s seems to be pretty good.

RIP man, respect for the long activity.

Sad to hear. I'm planning to see Quo on their final electric tour next year. They're the second best boogie rock band, only beaten by AC/DC.
