STEAM Announcements & Updates 2014 III - Don't Believe The Tags

Yeah, drop times increase exponentially when you idle in more than one game at time -- the days of being able to smash out multiple games at the same time are long gone. For best results you should idle in just the one and restart the game whenever you earn a card.

Interesting. Does restarting the game increase the drop rate? I always assumed it was just a time spent thing.

God damnit, I bought that GetGamesGo bundle that had Explodemon in it like 2 years ago, but it was such a poorly run bundle that I used a fake email address so I presumably won't be able to get an Explodemon key.

I hope they add the Steam key though.

Mercenary Kings is out of early access, $14.99 till first of April. Also it has cards now

Either it's had cards for a long time... or Steam is fucked, because I do not see any card drops remaining on the game for me.

Can I get an explodemon key for steam if I bought that April Fools Bundle?

For those that have played Crusader Kings II, how difficult is it to get into? I like strategy games a lot but I have gotten the impression that this game is rather difficult to get into? Any information or impressions would be appreciate.
There's an initial hump to get over where you won't have a clue whats going and unfortunately the in-game tutorials aren't very good and will only take you so far. Getting over that initial wall is the hardest part, once you understand how everything works and you have a basic understanding of the game's systems its not too hard. I'd strongly advise that you watch one of the video tutorials on youtube where they run you through a basic game session with explanations, that's what it took for everything to finally click for me- I normally hate video tutorials, they're long long and rambling but the text tutorials just weren't working for me (don't worry, you don't have to watch all the videos, just the first few are enough to get you going). Watching someone else play and describe what was happening as it went along helped a lot in this particular instance.

Also be aware that some of the game rules and UI layout may have changed slightly between the versions shown in the videos and the current build. This is the video series that I used to figure stuff out and as noted above, pick an Irish county as your starting point so things are more manageable.

Just finished the lost and damned, enjoyed it better than the main game, and being in a biker gang is more interesting than bowling with cousin.

Time for Gay Tony, heard good things about it!
Gay Tony's missions were great but narrative I couldn't see a reason for why Tony & Luis were doing what they were doing. L&D was much better in that regard.

Upside, inside out he's livin la vida loca, He'll push and pull you down, livin la vida loca
Their thing now is a lack of unified account so every license is tied to hardware, no? Imagine a PC where we couldn't upgrade and keep our library without filing a police report.
*shudder*

i always thought the drop time resets when you restart the game

Yeah mine shows no card drops for me. Hell, it doesn't even show up in my badges list. I've been idling it for a while and haven't received any drops.

In my experience, when drop times are wonky, the first drop in an instance of the game is always the quickest.

Cool, thanks for the tip

Not in my experience About an hour ago I was micromanaging idling in Iron Soul and was getting a card every 10ish minutes.

See you all in the new thread.

So this may be a silly question, but I left my Windows computer at him and I'm on vacation for a week and I only have my Mac. I got a really bad itch to play Dark Souls but obviously it's not on Macs.

Anyone know of any similar games to Dark Souls that I can get on my Mac?

So I have been trying to buy Fable off and on for the last 2.5 hours unsuccessfully. I guess GabeN doesn't want my lunch money

I have a 2GB 560ti. It seems to work fine for anything that I have thrown at it, although not all games can go ultra high settings. I will probably upgrade it in the next 12 months.

Haha, the double-posts are honest mistakes.

Even if by some act of misfortune you miss the deal completely I'm sure there'll be no shortage of cheap copies on trading sites.

I'm not too worried about it, but I also haven't really messed with trading sites either. Something I should get more cozy with.

Thought you guys would like that, it actually looks very cool with the 3D effect. I wonder if they were able to get approval from Nintendo? Or just teasing us.

The size of the image when viewed on a 1080p monitor is ironic. Really goes to show just how unbelievably weak the 3DS hardware is overall, including the outdated screens. The GBA resolution is 240x160 I believe, and that isn't much better.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I never realized that NASCAR: The Game 2013 (recently removed from Steam) has trading cards.

I think I'll play the "long game" on this one and wait until one of these racers dies in a horrible accident (or retires, or whatever) before selling the cards.

major props to greenmangaming for swift customer support. very polite, resolved my issue without question.

GMG/Playfire support are normally pretty nice. Their speed can be a bit ... sketchy... at times. But they're always nice and mostly helpful.

I've finally gotten my steam account on a new playfire account where everything should be set up now... I'm still waiting to see if they'll credit me for all the rewards I'd earned that were never applied because my GMG/playfire emails didn't match.

The thread is dead, long live the new thread. And now the hero steamGAF deserves.

As much as I dislike superman, this is the least offensive superman thing I've seen in awhile.
