It'll be some time before I play this game again, standalone Uplay is just insufferable, might just pick it up on Steam agian.
Doesn't that version still require the Uplay client?

When you go to the Steam front page, the first thing you see is a bigass ad for Thief. Not the usual promo spot that cycles through various titles (that's below it), just a huge ad. What I want to know is why.
I was being a bit sarcastic, not much, mind you.Sadly, it's not that unexpected.
Yeah, but why? It's not like Valve needs the money.Money.
Why does this remind me of Kane & Lynch?Just huge marketing push from Square-enix. The entire gmg is Thief too.
If people wanted to give you lots of free money for promoting their dud, would you say no?Yeah, but why? It's not like Valve needs the money.

If I already had lots of money, yes.
Yes, but it's still a lot better.Doesn't that version still require the Uplay client?
And this is why you'll never have lots of money!
Yes, but it's still a lot better.
Here's how Uplay standalone client works, click download game, after the download is finished, you have to install the game through an installer, with ToS and "next" buttons. Then comes the patches, each patch is downloaded separately, and all of them have their own installers. Once you applied a patch, Uplay would launch the game automatically without checking if there's a newer one, so if you want your game to be patched to the latest version, you'll also have to close the game multiple times to make it work.
Edit: I spend nearly an hour on updating SC: Blacklist to the latest version.
Yeah also this, when the auto patch downloader fails(come on, it's just a downloader, how could you mess that up Ubi?), you'll have to download and install the patches yourself.Obligatory:
That 5/10...may he rest in peace.
Recettear is brilliant, really enjoying it. Finished Dust yesterday, another great and charming game.
It totally is, also it makes me want Atelier games on steam, what can't be a bad thing. (><)
Yes, but it's still a lot better.

If it's the same engine, at least Durante's work will be cut out for him.Well, they use PhyreEngine, which is supposedly multi-platform (used by Dark Souls). Might be worthy tweeting NISA about them.

I love that Steam is fast-becoming the simulator nexus of the digital world.
20% off ($11.99) for the next week.
It hasnt been on sale once...
I just think NISA forgot the PC-market (and I think maybe the price was a bit too high).
It was on sale a few times in 2012 but apparently one of NISA's New Year's Resolutions for 2013 was "Stop discounting Cladun."
Edit: Oh god, Warehouse Simulator has licensed forklifts. That's awesome.
Hahaha, that DLC.
More like this:
Chantelise - A Tale of Two Sisters
Wut!? Why have I never heard of that before?
Oh. Really?
I have it since I dont know how long in my wishlist and every sale I hope it goes on Sale. But it never does

I'm waiting for Russian Pimp Simulator.
It's called Hotline Miami.
You should be able to get it for $12 from a trader, which coincidentally is how much it was on USD stores when discounted.

It's terrible. It really likes to start by itself whenever I have data connection. Why does my steam mobile app always start by itself? I never turn my phone off so its not a start up issue and I quit/log off within app.
So, in the end, is the new Thief worth getting or is it an insult to the series?
it just feels so bad not to buy an obsidian game
