Do you already have Enhanced Steam installed? If not, I'd (obviously) say start there. That will give you the game's price in other regions, including Russia. It'll also give you a handy SteamDB link on the store page so you can check for any crazy sort of region-locking.
Yeah, I do. Do I just look at how much it's priced in Russia and then divide that by the current market price of keys?

Good place to check is TF2 Outpost, just make sure you change the search option to "Steam Inventory" before you enter the game you want, otherwise it will only look for TF2 items with that name.
I just checked and there's one pesrson with it, and they're looking for a key, refined metal and real money. I don't know if they just want 1 key AND 1 metal, or 1 key OR 1 metal.

Wii U Pro via Mayflash or PS4 controller both work fine. Can't vouch for any 3rd party controllers.

This is the trouble though, anything which isn't one of the big guns is a fail for streaming at the moment. It's not Valve's fault because overriding the built in 360 hooks is a crap shoot because there are so many APIs for implementing support, but damn I wish it were easier to use a random controller. I don't like the dualshock layout, so I am really hesitant to get one just for tablet streaming.

I <3 this thread.

I've never watched more than a couple of the more infamous scenes from South Park before, so my interest in this game was largely due to Obsidian's involvement. That said, I enjoyed my time with the game so much that I will probably start watching the show at some point and the sole reason I'm including this game in the review dump is because I want people to still give the game a chance without feeling pressure to have watched the show first. It's that good. The writing is sharp and wonderfully irreverent, the depiction of the different social groups is very on point (though obviously exaggerated to a South Park degree), and it made me laugh more often than any game I can think of in recent memory (though that might just be proof that comedy is a lacking genre in gaming). The gameplay is very straight-forward for an RPG, but there is an attention to detail that is hard not to appreciate. I enjoyed the battle system and the leveling up enough that I didn't ever try to avoid battles, but Obsidian also wisely kept the random overworld encounters reigned in to the point of inoffensiveness. The visuals are great too. They do a great job bring a cartoon world to life in videogame form and there is a certain art to the lazy/garish look that the show and game share.

Verdict: Don't skip this one. It's clearly a labor of love from the show runners and Obsidian helped them bring it to life perfectly. The game is the perfect length too. Even if you haven't seen the show you should still give it a shot.

I really need to pick this up, ididn't hear much about this so I assumed it was a dud, glad to see the humor still intact even if's been a few years since I actually watched a SP episode. I wasn't really sold on the whole 2D aspect but boy does it look faithful to the series.

Dick bros for life.

For life.

Hey, I didn't say you're a dick. :p I don't understand why it's such a big deal, though. I mean, if you're like most people here, you've probably got hundreds of games in your library already, and there are probably at least a few clunkers in the bunch. What makes Bad Rats so bad that you wouldn't be caught dead owning it? Humor me here, I'm trying to understand this.

Lol, yeah I know you didn't. It is really just a simple reason why. I don't like rats! Also 90 games to be exact. :p Steam sales are scary thing, and really bump that number up each time.

Always good to see people confirming what I saw in a game. Helps me to realize that I'm not being too harsh in my impressions.

Being harsh in impressions is a good thing. We need people who can rip games apart for the flaws they have. Unlike me who finds it hard to say something bad about a game I've enjoyed even if just a little bit.

Looks like I'll be checking out Year Walk. I know it's been very positive among Gaffers the few times it's been mentioned but I wanted to see just how much more it would pop up as positive. Thanks Stallion.

South Park was always a given for me just waiting on a good sale since I missed with it was Region Free.

The prices are actually hidden in that view, click on the button with the three bars on the top right corner of the offer (hover over it and it will say "Show Notes"), or alternatively, click on the name of the trader and it will take you straight to the offer's full page. They are asking for 6 TF2 Keys for that title, or 9 Euro via Paypal. The option on the right shows what "Currencies" they accept and not their price, if that makes any sense.

The game looks like it would be a blast at a Star Trek convention
or even if I had 5 real life friends who would be interested
.
The Youtube videos where they have the whole "bridge" setup make it look pretty fun. It's like computer-assisted Star Trek LARPing.
Yes! It looks like a blast with the right people. I think porting the game to iOS/android would be wise as many carry them at all times and quick space travel sessions among friends during lunch/lesson breaks would be easily and quickly manageable.

I am watching wuvcraft's Pillar of Eternity stream atm. That is the game from the makers of Torment, right? Anyway, some characters were at some point behind trees and could not be seen anymore. I was thinking, ain't the game 3D actually and not just 2D backgrounds? So rotating the map should be possible in the final version I think.

Thanks to a nice gaf member I got the walking dead season 1. On Gamersgate 400 days DLC is only 1€. Is the DLC any good or should I avoid it?

Ahhh, gotcha.

6 keys, that seems kind of steep.

~14.50 in keys, $12-13 in paypal money. That's about the going rate for the game in Russia at the moment, so unfortunately unless someone has some stockpile sitting around from sale time and they want to be very generous, that might be the best price you'll see for a while.

Yes, it's from Obsidian, who made such classics as Icewind Dale 1/2, Planescape: Torment, Mask of the Betrayer and Fallout: New Vegas. Pillars of Eternity is, however, isometric, so you can't rotate the map at all.

This usually happens when you bump a trade on TF2oupost or other trading sites. If you were not trading then there is a possibility that someone from your friends list got phished and now phishing bots are spamming his whole friendlist with these links

I have never had anything to do with TF2 Outpost or other similar websites. The person it came from added me just today and sent the message immediately after that. So I guess it's just a phished account adding people randomly (or maybe filtering them in one way or another, I have over 800 games after all, which would make a good target). I reported the account for fraud, so hopefully Valve sorts things out.

Thinking about going down the Skyrim modded to hell rabbit hole again, such a time sink modding that game is but I really feel like playing a RPG right now.

From my experience, modding Bethesda games is pretty far from playing an actual RPG. I'd reconsider if I were you, there are much better games and much better RPGs around!

Well, try a Wii U Pro. It's very nice. Or try a Dualshock 4. It's much nicer than the PS3's controllers. If you don't believe it, check it out at a Best Buy or a Toys R Us or somewhere similar.

Both Wii U Pro and DS 4 are very comfortable and easy to use. The symmetrical versus asymmetrical argument doesn't hold any water for either of them, tbqh.

I forgot the Wii U Pro controller could be used on PC. I have been using my DS4, but I prefer the Pro controller. Is it as easy to hook-up as the DS4 or do I have to buy something to hook it up?

anyone played the eternity beta yet

i'm kinda regretting not buying beta access right now :I
I think someone mentioned in the beta thread that you can add pledge money still via their website or something?

I'd really want to try it since I assume it'll be a while until the full game ships, but eh... $25.

I'm happy to wait. I'd rather get a full game after the beta hype. They gave me Wasteland 2 early access, and it was good, but I decided I should put it down until I get the 1.0.

You have to buy a Mayflash adapter:
http://www.mayflash.com/Products/NINTENDOWiiU/W009.html

After that it works exactly like a native 360 controller. Anything that has native support for 360 controllers will work with the Wii U + Mayflash. Buttons are mapped literally, and on the Wii U Pro they are not in the same place as the 360, so that confuses some people.

Actually the best place really to find a guide for Skyrim mods has to be GEMS (Gameplay Enhancement Mods for Skyrim). It's a great guide, gives you a link to the mods, describes them and tells you if you need certain add-ons or script extenders.

I have about 55 mods for Skyrim now. Most are small things like adding lanterns to streets, craftable clothes and Dynamic Guards (more dialogue options previously buried by Bethesda, as well as themed outfits based on the hold they're in), but i have downloaded a couple of big ones like Moonpath To Elswyr and Helgen Reborn.

Every time i use GEMS i find something new.

Man, posting several stuff in one reply is not a good plan.
So I re-ask. Anyone played Walking Dead 400 Days DLC? I have the base game and the DLC is on sale at Gamersgate. Is it worthwhile?

Ahh, that sucks. While I would prefer the Pro controller, using my DS4 is free.

I liked it more than the base game even though its on the short side.
The idea's it presented for scenarios were fun and unique for the most part.
I say it's worth a play but no more than 2.50 for it.

I saw it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to respond since I have yet to bother loading up S2, and I imagine some of the interest in 400 Days is as a good segue between S1 and S2. It's alright I suppose, introduces a dozen new characters but you don't get to spend a lot of time learning about them or caring about them due to the nature of the DLC. The choices didn't feel as weighty.

Do you want a little more of TWD's style of gameplay? Then go ahead and dig in! Otherwise it doesn't really play much to the strengths of Season 1, simply because every scenario is over in less than 15 minutes.

400 days is okay. There's not much to it but it ties in to season 2.

Which one do you have? I didn't catch your earlier posts.

Personally I think the Wii U Pro looks great and feels great, except for the glossy surface. I took sandpaper to it to solve that problem. DS4 looks sort of goofy, especially the handles, but it feels very nice too.

Thanks folks for your impressions! Gonna get 400 days. I haven't played season 1 but I thought once playing it, I'd want to get the "full experience".

It's a Mad Cats C.T.R.L.r

Lame name aside, it's not a bad pad. I'd consider something else but it kind of needs to be Bluetooth, because when I head back to Australia next month (yay) I'll be using it to stream to my Raspberry Pi using Limelight.

Lets do a tiny contest shall we?

First person to guess the three new characters in Super Time Force Ultra correctly will get a free code.

Also the dumbest answer (judged by me) will also get a free STFU code.

August 25th is next weeeeeeek!
