Is there a strategy behind releasing cards long after a game has been released, or is it just something that's not prioritized?

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Well, now that gauntlet is delayed a couple weeks I kinda worry about the pre-purchase.

Maybe I should kick that habit of mine.

Seriously? Fuck.

Holy shit how the fuck I hate people that just go against any teamwork rule in CS:GO.

I mean, I don't care if someone is noob or something, I'm always fucking last. But shit, if while terrorist you wanna lead, then fucking LEAD. Not that you say "B" before the first round and expect that people are going to follow you to B for the entire match, especially when it's fucking clear that CT are too good at defending B and maybe it's worth something trying A for a change, but if someone else dares to call A you get angry because you went to B despite everything.
And then the only time you actually call B after the first round, you go A short and then get all mad against everybody because we DIDN'T GO TO B?

I'd totally love a reporting option for people behaving plain dumb.

Consortium is the 5$ tier in the current Groupees bundle and you get a lot of great games for that.

Other than that... I'm a big fan of Remember Me, Divinity OS and XCOM.

Thanks!

I think I've narrowed it down to Divinity OS and Dark Souls 2, partly because they're both $40. Which one should I get?

I think I want whatever one is less likely to go on sale during the winter sale.

Help me with my birthday GAF!

That's the main reason I don't like multiplayer games.

The second reason is that I'm terrible at games and don't need to be last place all the time. :) Took me hundreds of hours to be passable at TF2.

$40? Dude, get yourself like 8 games with that.

It really does amaze me how Five Nights at Freddy's has reached meme status already.
The creator has to be jumping and putting that title's sequel as his next focus.

Well I feel Dark Souls 2 might actually go on sale to 33$ again right before the final DLC comes out. I'm not sure about it, but I have a feeling they will try to do a sale before the final DLC is out to drum up some more interest. Both are really great RPG's, though both are quite different. All it depends on what you want, do you want real time action or turn based awesomeness?

Happy Birthday!

Both are great choices, it just depends on what you are looking for. I'd feel dirty if I suggested either, they are both really good games.

I actually found the CS:GO community surprisingly polite, if compared to my crazy low expectations, or to TF2 or various CODs on XBL.

Fact is that in CS, if you're not madly skilled, you need some basic teamwork to win games (or at least to have fun :D ).
So when you find 4 other good guys, it's all fun and games and no one gets sad if you lose. But then there are these matches with a single douchebag (also, usually the best player-- if this was a free for all game) that just fucks up the entire team, and then you just hope for the suffering to end as soon as possible. :/

Blah I want all the awesomeness!
I usually have more fun with real time, but the depth of Divinity makes it look like it'll be a ton of fun. Right now I'm feeling like running around real time, though. Also I haven't completely finished Dark Souls 1 so I guess I should do that.

How popular is divekick?

To be fair, just going by appearances, it looks like there's more to Lethal League than there was to Divekick. Despite the hype about "simplicity masking depth", at the end of the day Divekick was still a joke game about jumpkicking your opponent, and probably of more interest to the FGC for its parody elements than it was as an actual game.

The Banner Saga, I'm just before the final battle. Gonna play it tomorrow, I don't want it to end :(

Outstanding game. So, so good.

Get Divinity, finish DS1, play Divinity and then go for DS2 on sale. Solved :p

That game was popular up until launch and then the week after release it nosedived.
Remember people saying it would be the next big game for EVO.

Exactly.

But is it really complex enough to sustain competition?

You definitely should finish the first game! What part are you on? Did you already get through Anor Londo?

apparently the sequel is about how the animatronics escape and are terrorizing the city...

also this same dev made "The Desolate Hope" which I have from a bundle.. might have to give it a whirl

Yep! Beat Anor Londo, beat Ceaseless Discharge. I think I was on my way to Sif when I ran out of Steam. I think it's been about a month since I played. I wanted to get my weapon to +15 but I couldn't manage to get the Very Large Ember so I just sort of stopped. I will pick it up again, just gotta get back into it.

also I don't have much motivation to finish games ever

Every time I play CS:GO, it's just TOXIC.
So I'm not sure what alternate reality you exist in, but it sure sounds like the grass is greener...

Depends on the game mode, probably. Casual is a cesspool of the usual shit, competitive is nice--if only because you don't have to hear the other team 24/7, and demolition and the other modes seem to be fine.

Even if you don't finish it, you must play the DLC.

Ooo, good job Jawmuncher!

I kinda wanna join in on that, but I think it would kinda feel weird posting up my completed list now. Once I finish RE5 I'll be at 43 completed so far, and I could definitely get the rest of the way there with the time left.

Dunno.

Jump in, as long as the games were played this year you are good to go.

The biggest step is just making the list and checking back on what the times were.
If you ever had a lazy day I would say go for putting your list up. It's actually pretty nice to see it all totaled up and realize you do play games. Even if it feels like you don't sometimes.

I think it deserves all the attention it's getting; it's a ceative concept!

It definitely deserves the exposure. Since it's still all positive. Plus being 4.99 and with all the streamers playing it. It's working out for everyone. The sequel if he follows that idea will be interesting to see. Sounds like it would end up being a different style of game.

Ahaha, I dunno, I'm actually pretty easygoing with insults and stuff like that.
Like, lots of people called me noob (fair enough I guess), one guy got to wish me to die of cancer (less fair), but I lolled and that was it, those are just words, I really can't be bothered by them.

But people who actively screw up teams with their douchebaggery, those are the ones that REALLY make me crazy and make me ask to be kicked out of the game.

I should start keeping tracks of what games I've finished. Terrible at remembering release dates and often forget whether a game I remember enjoying came out this year or the last. Don't think I've ever forgotten playing a game though, although certain parts are obviously fuzzy in the more boring ones(ie, Timeshift)

Get Divinity for less than half price with TF2 keys and save up for Dark Souls 2.

This was one of my biggest issues. Especially the stuff I had played earlier in the year.
Thankfully Steam was a good tracker since i categorize my games by completion. Only issue was on some of the games that got cards after the fact. Had to go and check achievements to be sure.

I face a (miniscule) challenge tomorrow: do I prepurchase Alien: Isolation and Fable Anniversary (through trading, which evens out to the other choice), or do I get Dark Souls 2? I'll finally have the funds for one or the other, and can't choose!!

casual is more toxic than competitive because people can be.

so stop playing casual.

Well you can play DS2 now while you have to wait for the other 2.
However the price you're getting both of those at is going to be cheaper than what they'll be for awhile. Plus the time spent playing those should put you up to about the winter sale where DS2 is sure to hit.

The only ways to play CS:GO are not dealing with the dumbasses in Casual and just going for Comp, and even at that Comp is mostly fun when you actually have friends playing with you instead of randoms. Then again I think I've only had one bad case of a random in a comp game when not playing with friends, but I think I've gotten lucky on that part since I've heard some horror stories.

But people who actively screw up teams with their douchebaggery, those are the ones that REALLY make me crazy and make me ask to be kicked out of the game.

Or people who focus on their k/d ratio instead of the actual objective. I've played capture point and payload games where snipers stay in the base and shoot from there. We get our asses whipped, but hey, they get kills! And that's what matters right?

I've generally been pretty lucky with Comp with randoms, but once got kicked by my team for being the lowest scorer after 5 rounds (the other 4 all had the same tag but weren't actually much better than me). Had some really fun games with good team work though!
