On an unrelated note, I want to buy classic Doom and Quake from Steam, I waited all days of the sale but the prices didn't budge, so I'm going to pay their extortion prices. They are at -50%, anyone know how high they'd go after the sale ends?

I've been waiting for them to drop for ages, and they pretty much never go below -50%. Maybe in conjunction with the next Quakecon or something.
For the Doom games there is a possible substitute. The Doom 3 BFG Edition includes built-in copies of Doom and Doom 2, and you can currently grab it for five euros:

The downside is those copies of Doom/Doom2 are no good for the purist. Red crosses have been removed from health boxes due to Red Cross complaints, and the Nazi references have been stripped from the secret Wolfenstein-themed levels to make the game compliant with the censorship in Germany.
BFG Edition apparently does contain functional WAD files that work with alternative Doom engines and Doom mods, so if the small alterations to the content don't bother you, this seems like the way to go.

Greenlight is basically gone away (as a "barrier") now. They're Greenlighting hundreds a month (December had well over 300 games Greenlit) and most devs aren't going through Greenlight right now. They haven't done a news post since August. Most promising projects aren't using it, most of the new stuff I see added are pretty much unserious.
Edit: I'm looking at reddit /r/gamedev comments and there are people in the top 100 of Greenlight right now who are basically making "my first game" type projects that I would view as wholly unsellable; that's the situation right now. Some people in the last month got greenlit when they were nowhere near the top 100.
Edit: Looks like the cutoff for the top 100 now is below 3000 votes.
Edit: A discussion from around a month ago suggests that most devs who have been greenlit are being approved for subsequent games to do direct releases without being greenlit.

Yeah, I had Mind from somewhere already. I couldn't remember if it was a bundle or a cheap deal but I remember getting it really cheap and being happy about it. Eidolon was on the list of games I was watching this sale (ever since Grief.exe made a post about it back in the summer, I think... I just forgot about it until I saw it in the upcoming or new releases pages).
Since I almost bought Fract OSC on a variety of occasions, I figured giving $10 to charity was a good way to start 2015... so I grabbed the whole bundle. One or two spares may float through here later if nobody I ask on my FL wants them.
I hate that feeling... and if the sale ends on a Friday, there will be no "weekly" deals or anything to sort of fill the void. I guess we'll get 2 weekend deals and a daily though, so that's something?
And My first completed game this year will probably be A Bird Story, though I was recently made to start M&M Clash of Heroes and also fired up Lords of the Fallen. And working on co-op of Transformers: War for Cybertron. But if A Bird Story holds true to the "it's really short" description, I should be done with it first.
