Lara Croft Death Simulator 2013.
Aw shit, this is not what I wanted to hear.
I was hoping someone was going to come in and say "Hey, you just suck at the game and here's how you do combat: <XXX>".
I really want to like this game. It has really nice art (and tons of visual variety) and 3rd person action/actiony/rpg games are pretty much my favourite, but it feels like it's fighting me at every step.
Even when it's not frustrating, it's incredibly ponderous. Not necessarily the controls, but the macro design and scene pacing. Instead of obstacles to overcome it feels like a series of busywork roadblocks put in your way towards fun.
Damn, this may be the first game I quit without finishing since Lone Survivor.

There was a point where I was expecting to spend more on GOG throughout the year than Steam... but needless to say that didn't happen.
Nah, I have a list of stuff. I just haven't gotten around to it yet as I'm still toying with the idea of ordering a 980 today. I couldn't even buy anything yesterday as my bank had a massive network outage (just as well I had $24 in cash on me when I went to pick up my pizza, haha). When my card was declined I thought that maybe I'd purchased something stupid while drunk the night before.

I cannot for the life of me understand the praise that game gets. Granted, I only made it through act 1, but I felt like I was suffering through it rather than playing it (due to many of the faults you pointed out).
At that point I thought surely it gets better from here and went to the internet. Turns out, yes it does get better, after Act 2, which is supposedly the worst part of the game. Hearing that killed any desire I had to continue on, since I couldn't imagine playing an act worse than the one I had just played.
Plus you have to buy DLC to get the ending to the game. Fuck that game.

So when I got my whole new PC a month ago (Haswell-E! 16 gigs of DDR4 ram!) I went from a 650ti to a 980.
It's an *awesome* upgrade. The 980 can run just about anything at 1440 at max or near-max settings.

DARK is shit on a stick, but The Detail is a pretty decent adventure game in the telltale style, for example.

I'd say it is, Wrack is a pretty good shooter, and The Joylancer is also a nice game. Dark is awful as far as I know, but Silence of the Sleep has pretty good reviews here.

That's what he told me, too. He'd either go back to where he was before GAF, or find somewhere new -- but that he basically wouldn't be back.

No I used FRAPS actually, which isn't my first choice as the AMD GameDVR doesn't work with this game. Both do 60fps and look great too.
